You could try new springs, but I imagine the difference will only be marginal. If you don't want to block the trem you might just have to use 12s or downtune.

I'm almost always in Eb, that's the tuning it was in when it went out of tune. I guess I'll take it to the shop, this guitar sat in storage for ~25 years because my dad played piano and not guitar. It had 12 gauge strings on it when I took it out of storage, so I guess the springs might be dead. No possibility of blocking my bridge, I use the whammy bar as a vibrato effect on my slow songs. I'll get some pictures, if they're any help.
[img_thumb]http://www.artandlutherieguitars.com/gtrfolkcedantbstleft.jpg[/img_thumb] Thinking of buying one those those
I have that one! Very nice acoustic.
I tried one in the summer and it was probably the most comfortable thing I ever played.
Here are the pictures. All are from the .13 D'addario string set with the high E as a .14 (actually a B string).
Something tells me you get a really beefy tone from that guitar
Something tells me you get a really beefy tone from that guitar
Destroying my amp one bit at a time. Love the tone.
Dude you have a Gibson SG and a Fender strat but only one stand.
Dude you have a Gibson SG and a Fender strat but only one stand.
Usually my Tokai strat is up against my bed or next to me in my bed. Often I fall asleep playing things and wake up with it still in my hands.
I've never fallen asleep with a guitar in my hands in fear of breaking it and not being able to afford a new one. I toss and turn a lot says my dad.

If you want to block it, you need to put blocks of wood in the back of the guitar to keep the trem block stuck.
So I have these options: Buy a decent under $1500 guitar (please suggest guitars) Continue saving for a Mesa Quad and a half-cabinet speaker Buy recording material and EZ Drum Please pick. I'd save for the Quad most likely, but then I'll be stuck with my shit for about a year
http://www.thomann.de/nl/esp_ltd_sc608b_blk.htm That's a great guitar for it's price, no idea if you like extended range guitars though. But if I were you I'd save up for the Quad.
Save for the amp. If you have a semi decent guitar (I'd call a Squier Standard a semi decent guitar), then you would benefit most from getting a good amp, then some decent recording equipment. The actual guitar is pretty much the least important piece of equipment when it comes to recording sound.

[editline]3rd January 2011[/editline] Well, best i save up petty coinage while i run on my Line 6 combo amp :ohdear:

[editline]3rd January 2011[/editline] Well, best i save up petty coinage while i run on my Line 6 combo amp :ohdear:
By semi-decent I'm meaning the guitar is solidly built, and plays nicely with a decent setup. You don't need a $1500 brand-name guitar to make decent sounding recordings. Hell, I have a Japanese Ibanez RG that retailed for over $1000 back when it was in production, but my Squier is on par with it in terms of playability and sound right now (mostly because the RG has a lot of fret wear, but still I'm really happy with my Strat right now).
Hi guys, I've recently played the Fender Telecaster '50s roadworn, I really liked it wasn't sure if I'd want to spent the money on it. (already have 3 electrics) Does anyone know if there are any differences between the '50s roadworn and the Classic player '50s? I'd rather wear it in myself than go with the fake. Also, that Tokai looks like it'd sound really cool, especially trough an old design tube amp.
Found like a heart made out of foam(?) so I'm using that for workout with my hand and fingers.
Found like a heart made out of foam(?) so I'm using that for workout with my hand and fingers.
stressball?
so i decided to start messing around with my amp settings to try to get something that sounds like revolution. it didn't go so well. also power chords. :arghfist::frown:
Turns out the Mesa Dual Rectifier is $3999, FUCK THAT I'm getting a marshall head
anyone here ever play a rickenbacker?
stressball?
Yeah except it's not as soft.
Turns out the Mesa Dual Rectifier is $3999, FUCK THAT I'm getting a marshall head
How about taking a look at the Bugera Tri-rec? I love my 6262, and I'm sure it will be good too.
Turns out the Mesa Dual Rectifier is $3999, FUCK THAT I'm getting a marshall head
>Mesa expensive >Buying a Marshall Something tells me you don't know a whole lot about the tone you're going for. Also, I got a Boss FZ-2 on Gumtree. You might know the tone of it if you've ever listened to Dopethrone. :smugdog: Finally, NST is effectively cello tuning translated to guitar. Wider intervals and more intuitive scales and the like. (Apparently)
anyone here ever play a rickenbacker?
Guitar or bass? Bass, yeah! Guitar, no... Sadly.
>Mesa expensive >Buying a Marshall Something tells me you don't know a whole lot about the tone you're going for.
I do. Timo Tolkki used a Mesa Quad for Twilight Time, Dreamspace, Classical Variations and Themes, and the Fourth Dimension. Each are of my favourite works of his, and I'm a fan of the tone. Marshall however were my initial option. And their quality amps here are less that half of the Dual Rectifier
How about taking a look at the Bugera Tri-rec? They also sound absolutely nothing alike.
