I do. Timo Tolkki used a Mesa Quad for Twilight Time, Dreamspace, Classical Variations and Themes, and the Fourth Dimension. Each are of my favourite works of his, and I'm a fan of the tone. Marshall however were my initial option. And their quality amps here are less that half of the Dual Rectifier If I could find one, I'd look into it But really, you mention it nearly every damn post
That's the first time I've ever mentioned the Tri-rec, I am just referring the quality to my 6262, which is great. Also, I don't think the tri-rec is out yet.
They also sound absolutely nothing alike.
Exactly. Doesn't mean they cant both be decent. I've tried them both, and for their cost their very level, so it depends if im patient enough. Then theres the hassling of parents.... UGH
That's the first time I've ever mentioned the Tri-rec, I am just referring the quality to my 6262, which is great. My point is, if you're saving up for a Mesa purely to sound like someone else, you'll be nothing but disappointed if you get a Marshall. Truth be told, Marshall's aren't even the best in terms of getting the archetypal "Marshall tone" any more, and they certainly won't be able to nail the typical Recto hairdryer distortion. You can do a lot better, on both sides. To me, Marshalls overall, and the Recto series are overrated

People people you are misleading him. get this
no guys you're all posting the wrong amps
I must admit, I'm GASing for a Peters amp just now. Rather than being a traditional two channel amp, they effectively have a roster of 5 or 6 (I can't remember how many) single channel amps, which you pick two of, and the amp is built around your choices. Meaning rather than having a great clean channel which means the distortion suffers or vice versa, you literally get the best of both worlds (provided that's what you want) http://www.petersamplification.com/soundclips.htm
I expected better from you absinthe
These are awfully strange pictures of the 5150 you guys are posting, Just as a refresher course
I always mention it because it is a great amp, I don't see an issue.
High Five for owning the 6262, i have one too they kick ass.

But those preamps sure are tempting...
I expected better from you absinthe
how could I post better than the best
Are the only real options for practice amps with onboard effects the Cubes or Spiders? 'cuz I'm sick of how muddy my current Cube is and Spiders...ehhhhhhhhhh.
do you really need those effects whilst practicing?
Are the only real options for practice amps with onboard effects the Cubes or Spiders? 'cuz I'm sick of how muddy my current Cube is and Spiders...ehhhhhhhhhh.
fender g-dec yo or mustang

Welcome to the world of guitar!
fender g-dec yo
Sweet, danke.
do you really need those effects whilst practicing?
At least a good delay, reverb, and chorus, yeah. Anything that doesn't require me to go set up my interface to use is a bonus. I'll be buying a proper desk for my workstation so I can leave that shit at the ready later this year, but until then it's a pain in the ass to have to go fuck with my mixer I'm not planning on making a session of it.

Soon as I heard Sultans of Swing coming from it I knew I needed one ;__;
I wish I was made out of money.
You gonna join us Djentlemen guru?
Yes, but I'm looking at the Vetta II because it looks like an all round good amp. The djent capabilities are just a bonus :buddy:
I wish I was made out of money.
but then the more you spend the shorter you'd be
Soon as I heard Sultans of Swing coming from it I knew I needed one ;__;
I love that song so much... One of the reasons I bought a stratocaster.
