Oh c'mon, we could all afford to lose a few pounds.
...I believe this goes down as the worst pun of the year - already - if it was intended. Though many of us probably could afford to lose some weight >.>

This thread is now about personal fitness and body weight

Trying to learn how to play Changes by listening to the song, kinda hard to pick up every single note but I've got a general idea of how it goes.

My guitar teacher is offering to sell me a 30 watt Marshall JTM30 amp, with new tubes, for £225. Should I go for it, or buy myself a Vox AC30?
It really depends on what you play, but a Marshall JTM30 with new tubes for only 225 pounds sounds great to me. Then again I'm an Orangefag
It really depends on what you play, but a Marshall JTM30 with new tubes for only 225 pounds sounds great to me. Then again I'm an Orangefag
Haha, I play mostly things like The Beatles, The Strokes, The Smiths etc. Think it will be suitable?
I honestly think so yes, but make sure to try out both before you buy. Fiddle with them to your will and then make your decision.
Crate Flexwaves are good quality for a reasonable price, If you're willing to go solid state as opposed to tube. I've got one and I really like it.
I was actually looking for a new practice amp seeing as I intend to try and sell my line6 was thinking of this, but my Dual Terror goes all the way down to 7 watts so it would seem like a waste of money.
Long nails and lenses... :frown:
my strings are making my fretting fingers smell very metallic after playing, they never really did before. should I change strings?
my strings are making my fretting fingers smell very metallic after playing, they never really did before. should I change strings?
My brand new strings do the same so I don't think it is a warning factor. If the strings still sound fine I see no problem. And if they don't sound fine replace them.
so i decided to start messing around with my amp settings to try to get something that sounds like revolution.
I assume you mean the fuzzier rhythm sounds, rather than the lead sound on the intro, which is easy to work out. I googled around for this a few days ago, and it turns out it's because Lennon was plugged straight into the recording desk, and they recorded it 'in the red' (the gain levels too high), or something like that. It's apparently very hard to emulate that with an amp and pedals. I'm just going by what someone on a forum said, though.
my strings are making my fretting fingers smell very metallic after playing, they never really did before. should I change strings?
If they are old as well, yes.
This is what happens when you give a bassist a guitar: http://soundcloud.com/tezzmess/mess3 http://soundcloud.com/tezzmess/riffofdoom Mex fender strat :D I can't play with a pick very well so I just fingerpick. Also I press too hard, simply because I am used to thicker strings so some things sound sharp.

That sounds smexy
How often should I change tubes? I have some 12 AX7 tubes in my amp from ~30-28 years ago. And I've been rigorously playing the amp for the past 5 years. Do I need to worry about the power tubes if I used them at gigs? Also, my favorite online-bassist: I love his hand tattoo.
If they are old as well, yes.
well I got them shortly after getting my Dean so they're roughly 2 and a half months old.
I need to jam so badly
Is there like, an easier way to pull off power chords? B2 G2 D4 my fingers ff
Is there like, an easier way to pull off power chords? B2 G2 D4 my fingers ff
I find that when laying my index finger and my ring finger across the fret board, it automatically forms the shape of a powerchord, but I play bass. Shouldn't it be D 0 G 2 B2 though?
Hey guys, is getting a Digitech RP150 for $60 a good deal?
