amp modeling software cleverly disguised as an amp head
I know, isn't it great!
this furthers my theory that most musicians have an inferiority complex
What, because you thought it would be harder to learn, or because conventional scores are stupidly overcomplicated for what they convey?
Almost every person I know who plays an instrument
"I suck"
In reality however they're quite good
What, because you thought it would be harder to learn, or because conventional scores are stupidly overcomplicated for what they convey?
everyone I've ever talked to about it said it took them weeks to learn it
same thing with anything to do with theory
My 75watt Spider is shit, if the volume is too low, theres no distortion or low end, but if its too high, theres too much and the sound is muddy as fuck
I FUCKING LOVE ELECTRIC GUiTAR

understanding the system can be done in a matter of minutes
learning it fluently though is very hard

Can't wait for this to come out
I saw the model number for that and thought it was the price. I was all "WHAT THE FUCK" when I saw 2300050000
Reading music is a piece of cake. It's just getting the flow that takes a long time. Just like when you learn how to read tabs for the first time.
[editline]8th January 2011[/editline]
and most musicians do have an inferiority compex or insecurities
even the famous guitarists we know today
5 minutes?
That's impressive
It's taken me over a year, and I still can't read.
Well how the fuck did he do it in five minutes then?
Gentlemen, this means war
I have found the magic of using 3 distortions at the same time.
I know notes and music theory really well.
But even after 6 years I cannot read notes fluently. I don't know why, I just can't master theory that well.

Talking about piano here.
Used? NOOOOOOOOOOPE
Used is the only way to get a high quality Japanese made guitar for $350. Those two models I mentioned are basically equivalent in terms of quality to today's low-range to mid-range Ibanez Prestiges (which retail for over $1000).
Also they are no longer in production, so the only way to get one of those fine guitars is pre-owned. Why restrict yourself from some great guitars because you're anal about someone else having played your guitar?
I'm not saying you'll necessarily love those guitars, I'm talking about used guitars in general.
What would be the best way to fit a C standard guitar and 5 string bass together w/o drastically changing tunings?
Tune the guitar to drop B or B standard (assuming the bass is in B standard)
If that's too drastic then the bassist will just have to play a lot of closed stuff.

Well I got my M-II (recently stolen, by the way) when I flew there, is it worth trying to get a used one flown over?

Oh it'll take a while to be able to sightread music on piano. My dad has taught me and I can read jazz up to a point and then I can't sightread for the rest of the day. If you do a lot of theory in sightreading every day then you can do it within a year.
What would be the best way to fit a C standard guitar and 5 string bass together w/o drastically changing tunings?
Just play them? You can fit any tuning together with anything provided you understand what sounds good and what doesn't. Experiment.
Example, metal bands with violins/cellos

I think it's the pointless memorization you're presented with as "essential" before you get up a notch and your instructors tell you it's meaningless is what's time consuming. It also doesn't help that any instrument with a range beyond one staff runs into a clusterfuck of "why is this here now?" problems.
The elements of tonal theory you need to know can be mastered in an hour. The elements nobody ever gives a shit about take years.
Almost every person I know who plays an instrument

Its because everybody always has a role-model all the time. "I want to play like this guy"
So you gauge yourself in comparison to your current rolemodel/s, so you are always going to suck since there's always someone better than you. :smith:
it's finally happened guys
i'm too tired to play

don't be mad
only thing reading is good for is transcribing other pieces
so I can go play fireflies on guitar and get laid in minutes

unless you're paul gilbert
Wow dudes, I just noticed my Rumble 30 had a 3.5 aux in, so I started thinking "Hmm, I wonder what would happen if I plugged my Micro Cube from the head phone jack to the Rumble". I did just that and now I have hugely improved sound quality on my guitar and 30 extra watts. It´s like an awesome mini-stack.
Some ghetto shit right here.

Precisely.

Classical guitar pieces. It's also pretty much a requirement for things such as jazz ensembles, and provides a universal musical language.
It's just good practice to be able to sight read. It's something I'm working on
