I want to find the red note so I can kill people with music
Just play them? You can fit any tuning together with anything provided you understand what sounds good and what doesn't. Experiment.
Example, metal bands with violins/cellos
Yeah, I tried to fit them together in their according tunings, but the bassline would then be rather complicated, so I wanted to find out whether there's an alternative way.
TheGuru's suggestion seemed to do the trick + the semitone down doesn't make much of a difference.
Thank you. :)
I want to find the red note so I can kill people with music
That's not a note...
...it's a volume.

envy me
So I want to get a fuzz pedal
Anyone know what to get to get an Electric Wizard type of sound?
That's not a note...

So if Blastissimo is FFFFFFF, what is the red note? Eight?
[editline]8th January 2011[/editline]
Oh, also, a friend of mine is looking to buy an electric, but he wants to fingerpick and has huge hands (big dude, 6'5" or some shit.) And unlike me he won't just give up with his mongoloid self and use them little claw dealies. Apparently he also has a hard time fretting complex stuff with his hand size too.
What's a guitar that might have a little more space between the individual strings what he can jam his big ole fingers up into?
Well I got my M-II (recently stolen, by the way) when I flew there, is it worth trying to get a used one flown over?
If you like the M-II, there's no reason not to try get a used one.

Instantly you get a huge amount of feedback.
All within a 1 mile radius is dead.

I should try this with Guitar Rig.
Amp head > amp head > amp head > amp head > amp head > four amp heads ran in parallel > amp head > amp head > amp head.

There's a guy on eBay who sells modified Peavey.. Predators I believe. He takes a standard 7 string and converts it to a wide space 6. Sounds like what your friend needs
He could just buy a 12 string guitar and take half the strings off
That's not a note...

actually I think it's an E in the 6th octave
wait maybe that's the dog note
He could just buy a 12 string guitar and take half the strings off
I suggested it at first and he thought it would be overkill. I dunno, he's going to go look around at stuff on monday and see if he finds anything more comfortable, maybe after he's held a seven he'll want that conversion thingy or maybe he'll just find something a little bigger than whatever he tried first that works for him.
Are there any easy songs you guys would recommend for an acoustic? I was trying to get Auld Lang Syne down, but for whatever reason, it's giving me a lot of difficulty even though I think it's fairly simple.
Should I just keep trying with that?

Honestly, I have a 12 string guitar that I took 4 of the strings off, and it has a neck that is the same width as my 7 string Ibanez. I just think it would be a cheaper option than a converted 7 string (and also leaves you open to more options other than Peavys)

anything with simple chords and maybe a barre or two to build strength
Okay I dropped the low end a bit on my line 6 and now it actually sounds decent
Like, an accurate computerized imitation of a Mesa with less rawness

I am so incredibly jealous
bar chords are spelt barre? mind = blown
For you music theorists, I've been working in the following array of notes, but have no idea what exactly this scale would be or how to relate it on a "common ground," so to speak. To me it's important to actually know what I'm doing instead of just doing trial-and-error on every single note when writing stuff out. Anyway, here:
D Eb F# G A Bb C D
Thing that's making it difficult is that F# when there are two flats. When played, this has a "Persian" or "Egyptian" sound to it, and it sounds like it would be an actual scale, but maybe I'm missing something?
Specifically for guitar, I'm in D Standard playing the following on the low D: 0-1-4-5-7-8-10-12

Yo wassup.
So I'm thinking of buying a new bass guitar at the end of the year, specifically one of these and I'm wondering if anyone has used one and can give a good opinion on it. I'm trying to find one locally so I can try it out myself.
