I just realised that using compression makes some components from my PC vibrate out when I have long sustaining notes.
It might be really heavy, like weight wise, but anyhow, Bareknuckle pickups might be what you're looking for. www.bareknucklepickups.com They offer a wide selection but they are on the pricey side. they make some fine pickups that's for sure.
Yeah, I am prepared for the weight, but I have a design plan that will help stop it from being too heavy. I'm used to heavy guitars anyways.
I just did a sound test with an insanely distorted bass. It sounds quite funny.
The beginning sounds a bit like Return To Hangar.
ESP LTD M-200FM Epiphone Les Paul Studio Gothic Marshall MG30DFX Line 6 Floor Pod an abundance of Jim Dunlop 0.96mm plectrums
You should save up and get rid of that MG as soon as possible.
I just realised that using compression makes some components from my PC vibrate out when I have long sustaining notes.
fucking resonant frequencies how do they work
On my break right now listening to dynamite off of dynamite. This shit is dynamite
I just got my first tube distortion pedal. It's the Rocktron Silver Dragon, and the best part is that it only cost me $70! It does everything from distortion-so-light-I-can-barely-hear-it to holy-fuck-my-ears-just-exploded. Also the tube glows when it's plugged in. :3: [editline]14th January 2011[/editline] oh and it also has really cool names for all the settings. Check it out: [img_thumb]http://www.hudobne-nastroje.sk/product/images/ROCKTRON-SILVER-DRAGON.jpg[/img_thumb]
:v:
Only just realised that thomann now accept Paypal. (My only option in the past was to use someone with a Visa card as proxy) This now means I can use my debit card to buy stuff and I'm going to have no money from now on :v:
oh and it also has really cool names for all the settings. Check it out:
Reminds me of: [img_thumb]http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/1893/beetmaker.png[/img_thumb] I should make an amp sim, give it a "Broot" and "fuckin' twangy shit channel", and instead of EQ knobs it can just have a "Mids" knob that only moves backwards. Reminds me, I have a digital distortion effect I've never tried which has a big button that just says "Punish." I should see what that actually does.
Apparrntly Matt Heafy has recorded with the half stack im getting. I just listen to some tracks off ember to inferno, and am not disappointed at all

Dsl100 as stated before

fuuuck I want ibanez to build a hardtail extended scale seven string so bad
Ugh it's such a shame Ibanez have so thin necks, they totally cramp up my hands [editline]15th January 2011[/editline] They make fine guitars though
Does someone wanna list the pro's and con's of a line 6 spider amp. must use for arguments sake against a friend
How much gold must pass ones palm in order for me to acquire that fine specimen of a seven string? [editline]15th January 2011[/editline]
Does someone wanna list the pro's and con's of a line 6 spider amp. must use for arguments sake against a friend
Pros: Cons: They sound like ass. Experience: That one time I played a shitty line 6 spider in a shop.
how useful
Hey it's your fault, you just said could someone list, not someone make a good list :smug:
Pros: Amp modelling(well not really but multiple channels that don't just sound like multiple channels), you don't have to decide for one sound in an amp Line out recording Reasonable volume Cons: None of the settings sound very good to an experienced guitarrist, so you'll want to upgrade in the future anyway The channel buttons are all squishy and uncomfortable A Vox Valvetronix costs a little bit more(I think?) and is a lot better
Pros: Cheap effective solution for a practise amp and can mimic many tones, can have decent distortion at low volumes, has massive low and high ends, free effects Cons: You cant get your own tone, they sound too digital
The actual recording is still hanging, its nothing special anyways just a demo of my cousins microphone setup that i cant borrow due to him using it, but i should have a video up soon of something not related. [editline]15th January 2011[/editline] Fuck this iPod Touch quality shit. Yes I failed, sorta on some bits, but fuck it.
Apparently that Ibanez probably won't be available in the UK
Import time :smug:
Quoting myself from a few pages back:
Well, I don´t think he´ll be playing that much clean stuff. BTW, can anyone play the solo from the Pompeii version of Echoes? I learned it ages ago from different tabs and the movie, and I can clearly see what Gilmour is playing, but it just doesn´t sound anything like it. It´s like his guitar is tuned half step up or something. Here´s the clip from the movie, solo starts at 4:27: And this is some tabs for the beginning of the solo:
------------------------------------------------| ------------------------------------------------| ------------------------------------------------| ------------------------------------------------| --4---4\2-------------2-4-3~--3 / 4-3-3-4-6-7~--| ----------4---2--4-5----------------------------| ----------------------------------------------------| ----------------------------------------------------| ---------9~-11-11(12)11(13)/ 19(21)--9~-------------| --9~-11~--------------------------------11~-9~------| -----------------------------------------------11~--| ----------------------------------------------------|
That´s not exactly how I play it, but it´s the same stuff. It just sounds completely different, don´t you think?
Anyone? I´ts really bugging me. Also, am I the only one who hates the look of Les Paul copys? The horn is always cut really sharp and it just doesn´t fit at all. LPs are all about the graceful round shapes.
I'm still saving for my King V :v:
I have to say I'm quite fancying one of these: I really want a Jazzmaster but I've yet to find one worth the money (IMO). So, kill two birds with one stone for this one since I want P90s and a V :v:
