Been playing for maybe 2 years now, not really focussing on getting better though, mainly just playing for fun.

Haven't lost interest, still wanted to learn and play good, but was too lazy to actually play. But a couple of days ago something happened and I just play for like 3-5 hours every day and learn new songs almost always (and that's the reason I started to visit this thread). I don't have the worst guitar, may do a little sound check to see what you guys thing about it and then post my build.

Yeah anyways the 'hurr durr shredding' is 9 months of teaching myself, 6 being with only an acoustic guitar, hate to be cocky but i believe im a good player, there is always room for improvement... And people i know that have played longer than me still cant play on time or palm mute properly, so fuck em

"Holding back the note diarrhea" comes after about 2 years I reckon, about that time you realise it's not how much you play or how fast, it's what you play and when.

Maybe I should record my attempt to shredding. My neighbors wont like that. Also, I'm really starting to dig stoner rock, slow fuzzed up riffs with slow, bluesy solo's and faster groovy breakdowns are fun to play.

Made a little recording with my webcam microphone. I will buy a normal recording hardware in few days, but the webcam did a suprisingly good job at not-messing-up the sound really bad. Shame my guitar was a lot closer to it so it catched a lot of pick hitting the strings sounds and some mess when vibrating strings touch the fret things because of my fingers are not very strong at this moment.
