Sorry to ruin everyone's parade, but it was actually a bottle stuffed with a t-shirt.
The shirt said, "We love you!" or something like that, and a girl in the crowd threw it on stage.
Obviously, it was a horrible throw, so it hit him in the head.
It's still awesome, though.
