I have to admit, I hated pretty much all of Hivebent on my first read-through. It seemed like it dragged on forever and I really wanted to see what was going on with the kids.
Also the Intermission is my favorite part of the whole damn comic.
Weakest part was when John finally met up with the rest of the kids, and then Hussie used literal pixie dust to glaze over what actually happened.

act 6 as a whole is one big weak point in the comic in terms of what hussie chose to actually focus on
I didn't like most of hivebent because aside from karkat I don't care for pretty much any of the trolls as characters but act 6 makes hivebent look like the intermission in comparison
also caliborn is a weak point. like don't get me wrong I think he's hilarious but as a backstory to Lord English he's goddamned awful. caliborn did to lord english what the prequels did to darth vader basically.

i know that when Homestuck first started, the lack of a solid story at that point was weak.
of course after the events of Problem Sleuth, i believed that Homestuck was gonna go places, so i stuck with it.
also, i'd say any time the story suddenly focused on a new character for the first time (WV, SS and act5) i found the sudden drop of momentum from whatever prior event in the story to be an issue (of course it became more tollerable after the intermission as it kinda became a set mechanic to the story).
If the end of homestuck does not look anything like this, I'ma be very dissapointed

I mean, the proof is RIGHT THERE.
I don't mean to change the subject, but, at first when I saw that the Kickstarter game was going to be an adventure game I had a few doubts.
But after playing some superb adventure games such as Telltale's "The Walking Dead" or "The Wolf Among Us," I have no doubts as to what this game can accomplish. Let's just hope it lives up to Hussie's other works.

I just haven't played a whole lot of "adventure games" nor really enjoyed the ones I have played. I could never get into Monkey Island or Myst.
it's pretty much guaranteed that the game will operate within old adventure game tropes though, just like all of MSPA does. if you're expecting it to be like the walking dead then you're setting yourself up for disappointment. the walking dead and wolf among us are highly atypical of the genre

in a weird way the walking dead is closer to games like heavy rain or indigo prophecy than anything that homestuck draws influence from
I didn't mean to say that I hope it's like the Walking Dead or TWAU, I just feel much better about adventure games in general because of those two titles.
