Yeah that was pretty bullshit, I remember the same thing being done with the Terezi and Vriska coin flip but it wasn't nearly as flagrant.
90% sure the corruption stuff was Hussie making an excuse for not going through the trouble of making that stuff happen
the latter half of act 6 was basically the cocktease act or the "I don't want to do this anymore" act which really sucked because it was like he was purposefully setting up cool shit that would have actually been interesting but then nope magic stardust guess that isn't going anywhere
tbh I would not be surprised one bit if the last sentence in Homestuck was "Fuck this, I'm out."
It sucks how Hussie got lazy, delayed content comes out late but content you fuckin skip with your dumb plot device is awesome exposition and fights nwe'll never see
I was okay with the coinflip, and the muted screenshots and stuff. I was *NOT* okay with an animated, synchronized flash that gets RIGHT UP to the "kick" and then cuts out.
One of the main reasons I read homestuck is the synchronized animation and music in the flashes, and the games (while well made) really don't make up for the lack of that in the last act.
Still gonna read it to the end. I want to see wtf hussie's got planned for the ending.
I feel like its safe to say no matter how we feel about homestuck in its current state, the majority of us are going to finish it since we've invested so much time in it

I was about to say I don't think I've put more time into it than a large TV series but then I started thinking about how fucking huge homestuck is. It's kind of ridiculous. I don't know how anyone finds the time to catch up with it if they didn't start around act 3...

The coinflip was great as it set off a bit of a cliffhanger as well as being unexpected.
All the rest is just a bit irritating.

i've been working on a theory that the central tenant of homestuck is: "doing things is bad and evil. only horrible monsters fight." basically every bad thing in homestuck was caused by someone taking action and attempting to confront their problems head on through physical force.
so this basically means the true ending will be karkat shoosh-papping lord english to sleep.
edit: i think fight scenes are overrated anyway and rather like this method of storytelling
