I don't get this. There's not THAT many names. And all the characters are distinct.
Alot of people complain about that but it seems silly to me.

I mean if you don't give a shit your brain won't really dedicate any space to it.
It took me a second readthrough (this was before Act 6 started) to get the troll's names down and normally I'm the kind of guy that gets all anal retentive about remembering character's names.
Hell, I really only learned their names by the same method I learned the names of every single character in MLP: osmosis. I could give a fuck less about most of the trolls and all of the my little ponies but damn if I don't know every single one of their names because some people that really wanna bed some cartoons kept shoving pictures of em in my face.
I just reread Homestuck for what will be the last time in a very long time. I highly recommend rereading everything from the last day onwards.
It seemed kinda slow while updating incrementally but is extremely intense and fast paced when reading it normally. I can see why Hussie wanted to finish it all off at once.
It's going to be even harder to wait now. Why did I speed up reading and blow it early? Ugh.

It was just the female Trolls. Could never keep them straight for ages. Mostly I remember skipping huge dialoglogs thanks to the onslaught of text, and not really giving a shit about anybody who wasn't Karkat on the first readthrough.

I don't mean I skipped huge chunks of the story, but when there's five page long dialoglogs every three panels with twelve new characters most of which I don't care about and a convoluted story told in abridged format and shitty typing quirks you'll excuse me for trying to skim through some of them.

I think you used the shittiest example possible. You cannot compare a two hour long movie with a main cast of about five or six people to gargantuan walls of text with twelve characters only distinguishable through coloured text and weird typing slapped in halfway through a story with characters I care more about being shoved out of the way while it only gives me a rough abridged version of the events while constantly jumping around.
