I seriously lost all interest in Homestuck after Act Six, I only trudged on because I like Kanaya, Terezi, Karkat, and the Pre-Scratch Trolls.
I still like it. I have a lot of problems but I like the whole thing and I never got tired of it. Except Hivebent. I think the Gigahiatus is getting to us, with nothing new coming out we're just focusing exclusively on the parts we don't like because it's a lot easier to do than to just talk about the stuff you like.
At least we can all agree that we'd all be happier if Hussie had just made a Midnight Crew adventure instead.

Act Six is by far the weakest I will say, mostly due to the Alpha(?) human characters being quite a bit less interesting than the previous cast. I dunno, some elements just were introduced too fast and it felt like a different story entirely.

I don't think they're too normal other than Jane, the problem is that Jake is a moron built around Hussie's desire to try to piss people off through excessive romantic bullshit that's apparently intentionally as terrible and pointless as possible, and most of their character relationships and interactions were built around that romantic bullshit.
Dirk's good, Roxy is fun, Jane is too boring, Jake is frustrating to be around when he's just saying silly old timey things. Two for two.

It warms the cockles of my heart to see the people who only recently read homestuck agree that act 6 is the worst, proving that I'm not just stricken with nostalgia.
All of Homestuck sucks, it's just that some parts suck more then others.

There wasn't anything too spectacular about the comic besides for the radical-ass html magic in that dream sequence. That's about where I quit keeping up with it too.

I tried reading it once, but something about it seemed kinda dull, and the art kinda irritated me. Which is weird cause it's legitimately good art.

Re-reading Homestuck, I only had problems with trickster mode and the dancestor 3 walk-arounds. I mostly played them until I got to parts in which characters I cared about talked.

The issue with AD is that the characters are inconsistent, for instance Ava was first made out to have absolutely no confidence whatsoever and to be really shy and passive, though later on she suddenly starts being really uppity and forceful at times which doesn't fit the character at all up until then.
