he was a crappy villain and he was only good when he was high because his conversations with equiuus were gold

the gamzee villain plot sucked. it had no setup and had to fight with eridan and vriska for attention, to the point where hussie had to stick "honk" in the corner of random panels to make sure we didn't forget about him
The only part of that sequence that was great was the fact his murdering Nepeta was terrifying and disturbing.
Well I don't think terrifying is the right word. He was never really all that scary.

From what I remember I think it had to do with Equius having too much pride since he has "underling" blood due to Gamzee's Purple being royal or something like that.
basically he was below gamzee in "blood class" and refused to retaliate

I think there's more to it than that honestly.
Yes, Equius is extremely strong, but he's literally never shown any animosity towards anyone else. He respects those of higher caste than him, and he gets off to those lower than him, but that's probably not why he died like the bitch he acts like. I just don't think he's a killer.
Straight up, he's never been violent to anything except robots and game constructs, despite being extremely strong. He let vriska walk all over him (made her an arm, hid the ball for her) despite her being nearly his exact blood caste. It's neither a fetishism thing nor a loyalty thing there, the dude is just a doormat. Keep in mind, this is not just a thing that Nepeta keeps him from doing, most of his restraint is self imposed without even consulting nepeta.
