This staredown and any ensuing fight (assuming it's not a curbstomp, the Ｐｏｐ－ａ－ｍａｔｉｃ Ｖｒｉｌｌｙｈｏｏ Ｈａｍｍｅｒ is pretty good and John's done profoundly rude things to Noir with it) seems pretty 'heroic' to me. I think John's probably in trouble, and that almost certainly someone is going to die here.
That showdown with Jack and John in the dream bubble was pretty badass, but I feel like Baby English may stomp the shit outta our poor protagonist here.

John is travelling randomly throughout time and space in a non-linear fashion, he could die here but a past iteration of him could show up in the future. That said, I don't think it's going to happen.
