What bothers me is the tattoo talk, especially since they actually just call them tattoos and not some goofy troll name like skinpictures or whatever.

I guess you just want to be perceived as having one and so you have one, sort of like how calliope cosplays.
As an aside calliope has a sick flaming snake tattoo that covers her entire back, but it will never appear in canon so just take my word for it.

That necklace is a reference to a felt fanadventure that was on the MSPA forums, you can also see it in the third openbound game in a chest.
