I like how the ultimate sword of plot advancement is a piece of junk found halfway through Dave's quest and is necessary to kill the final boss, yet pales in comparison to the strongest endgame sword that took forever to craft but can't deal the final blow.
Feels like a lot of RPGs.
It's kind of weird to me how Dave doesn't use his Time powers to fix some of this shit. For instance, warning Jade of her impending mind control, or maybe even knocking her out post-grimbark. Like, I mean, I know he couldn't kill Jack with time powers, but that was before he was a god tier, so I mean, wouldn't you think a bunch of god tier'd Daves with Deringers + other people be enough to take her down?

wouldn't that disrupt the alpha timeline and create a doomed timeline? I'm pretty sure there's only so much he can do with stable time loops

Reminds me of when you had to get an anti-snake sword in Dark Cloud for one QTE and then ditch it because fuck mine was way better.
Speaking of which you should all play the Dark Clouds.

well okay but then that puts into question what decides what the alpha timeline is? Like if Dave had just done it then that would be what happened in the alpha timeline, except now that he didn't it can't happen.
Being a god of time though I'm sure he has some kind of gut feeling on things though. And also if he did there wouldn't be much of a story. It's not really something to totally question but I was just kind of pondering it.

The Sword was fantastic when you upgraded it, but of course they all are.
The only thing I hated about that game was perma weapon break. Granted, it's one of the main draws, but when you lose your sword and are just as powerless as you were at level 1 it just doesn't feel fair.

I would feel sorry for the kid who lost his chronicle 2 sword after beating the 100 layer dungeon because his sister played but he grew up to be a right cunt so nah he deserved it.

I always like Digimon World 1 for that. Something about building up the city, finding Digimon and returning their memories so they come back and open up a shop/arena/cafe/hospital etc... large part of my childhood, that.
