I don't really get it, Karkat and Kanaya still have a huge bargaining chip, that being the fact that Kanaya and a knight (Actually Dave not Karkat but I guess she doesn't realize that) are the only ones Echidna will talk to. So if she kills either of them for good, they can't get the egg.
