There should be an art class just for finding poses that involve hiding the subjects hands.
Wouldn't it be better just to have a class specifically dedicated to actually drawing hands?
It looks like the artist put a ton of effort into drawing it, put off doing the hands, finished the shading and everying, looked at the missing hands and went "no, fuck it, i'm done with this shit".
Shit I'll finish the hands for them later if I have time. Only bad thing is, they'll be black n white.

They are pretty easy to get. As long as you have an arts and crafts store nearby, they usually sell posing dummies like the one in the picture for about $10-50 depending on the size and quality.
