Both Jane and Jade still have their minds, it's just that they're evil and highly susceptible to the batterwtich's commands. Their personalities are still there, and they're not even buried too deep under the evil. There's nothing really stopping them from rebelling in theory, they just seem indoctrinated.

the cascade break was when stink like me started to waft in welcome back to homestuck, the Midnight Crew Intermission is the best part of the comic objectively

I think I saw Cascade. Was that the one hosted on Newgrounds? That's around the time I stopped following it. Has the story started to wrap up or make sense at all, or is it all still as confusing as ever?
