It is like when people said Tavros' murder was okay because he challenged her... I really do not like Tavros' character, but Vriska's interactions with him were disturbing as fuck...

My guess is that Equius would've abandoned that purpleblood circlejerk attitude and smashed Gamzee's head into pulp. And possibly gone on a rampage too.

I've said it before, I'll say it again, equius' death feels like a dropped plot point. Nepeta storywise held no purpose and her cute bullshit seemed hellbent on making her into a sacrificial lamb. Moirailigence in the comic has, so far, had a grand total of 0% success rating. Nepeta and Equius died and Kanaya and Eridan both try to switch to flushed but fail miserably. The reason for this is probably because Hussie was going to set up Equius snapping after seeing Nepeta dead and to outline how strong moirailigence truly can be. As it stands however Equius really acted like he was all bark and no bite with his whole "antisocial violent impulses" bullshit since he literally does nothing but try to help people the entire time he's on the meteor (especially low bloods like tavros and aradia). It seems like nepeta's influence wasn't really needed and their entire plot is pointless.
