Forgot to take the picture this morning. Finally got around to it. I'm kinda moving away from TF2. I'd like to start doing requests for certain people for money but I don't think I have the resources. [editline]11:30PM[/editline] Note: that blob on the bottom is the light on the ceiling.
Well..I finished that portal mirror last week but never got around to taking a picture of it..I'll show it off later... But also I am still waiting for a reply back from valve..It says my mirror arrived when I check the tracking number but it's been 2 weeks. I don't know whats going on...I hope they contact me back soon. I hope it made it there without shattering.
They're probably wondering why someone sent them broken glass as they tend to the cuts on their fingers.
Looks great. Love how you inverted one side.
They're probably wondering why someone sent them broken glass as they tend to the cuts on their fingers.
I think the real question would be if you see shattered glass in a box why would you stick your hands in?
Ask them?
I sent robin an email back last week asking if they got it..My tracking code said they got it a long time ago but still no response..I should probably try emailing back.
You should try making this:
http://www.myconfinedspace.com/wp-content/uploads/tdomf/102565/Portal%20warnings.jpg Would buy one of theses if you added aperture and the logo on the bottom.

How much would you be willing to buy it for? And what if I did all of them on one mirror then on the bottom put Aperture + logo?
2 questions. How much would you be willing to buy it for? I don't want you to lose any money, and that is what I was thinking about / trying to explain.
I've had offers of $50-$60 + shipping (would include frame, can't send without I think.) so yah. Around there.
That seems fair to me, I will be getting money around November so I could pay you then.
That seems fair to me, I will be getting money around November so I could pay you then.
I'll consider it. PM me if you have any other ideas for it..I'll try and set up an idea set up for it before I cut it out and work on it if you still want it. [editline]08:44PM[/editline] OH and when I shipped my mirror to valve it was $30 for shipping. And I can only Ship to US.
-snip-
you should do one of the mann-conomy update, I'm sure they'd love that and how do you make one? [editline]10:26PM[/editline] I would fucking love a shirt with the spy on it.

[editline]10:26PM[/editline] I would fucking love a shirt with the spy on it.
Well technically the saxton hale mirror was a MANN co mirror so I guess it counts. I make them by covering a mirror in contact paper, taking my design putting it on top, then slowly cutting out the image by hand, then sand blast and wax. It takes about 1-2 weeks to finish them but that's only because I get 50 minutes to work on them each day.
You should like do a guide on it and take pictures because I don't know half the shit anyone here says, and I have to google the terms just goes to show my ignorance :saddowns:
I'll try to next time I do one.
Good news! My dad won $800 gambling last night. I may be able to get my own sandblaster soon..Just need to figure out exactly what I need.
I'd probably spend $100 or so on one of these. I wouldn't know what design I would want though.
I'd probably spend $100 or so on one of these. I wouldn't know what design I would want though.
Good to hear. Can't wait until I get my own... Probably going to need to figure out copyright issues if I start selling them. Use exacto knives every day...cut finger on can of beans.
Ask the respective owners. You could make a business off of this :buddy: of course, I don't think you would want that
Ask the respective owners. You could make a business off of this :buddy: of course, I don't think you would want that
I wouldn't really want a business just a part time thing maybe. I enjoy doing it really.
Wow wasn't expecting this..My dad just called and said he went out to go buy me all the sandblasting equipment with the money he won. So I should be able to make them in my house pretty damn soon. Also if a mod looks in here can they rename the thread to Murdoco's Mirrors?
fun I wanna learn
I just need contact paper, some goggles that fit, a mask to stop the dust from getting in my mouth, and some wax. and holy fuck this thing is 10 times louder then the one at my school. Good thing I have some ear protection. I have it mostly set up..just need to put together a couple more parts.
Are you selling these? If so I would be interested in buying one.
I will be soon. Doing one more mirror for myself (should be best one so far in my opinion..haven't gotten started though..concept is done though.) in my tech core class then I'm going to work on them from home. Oh and my sandblaster is all set up. Just need wax and contact paper and I can start.
take a picture of it
The sandblaster? I'll go try...I'll be right back. [editline]13th October 2010[/editline] sorry for the slightly shaken pictures but here you go. This is the main part where I do the sandblasting itself This is the compressor for it Both of those + Goggles, Masks, about 20 pounds of sand, oil for compressor, tubing, contact paper, and wax cost about $400-$450.
