Depends on what you play. For metal I'd recommend a nice hardtail Schecter, oe perhaps an ESP (a high-end LTD would suffice).

My Iceman has some nasty belt buckle scratches on the back, perfect in the front.
The head stock looks a little roughed up, tiny dents.
Nothing a sharpie can't fix :)

This. Petri Lindroos from Ensiferum uses an EVH 5150.
If not, there's always Mesa or Vader.
The Mesa is versatile, the Vader is not (but will give the best death metal tone).

Six strings, fixed bridge, but tremolo could be nice (as long as it doesn't require me to tune it over and over again).

I agree, but I still don't care when it happens because my bass guitar was only €170,- and it gives the bass some character when it happens on accident (imo).

Fucking up your guitar so it looks all old is a bit stupid, but legitimate mistakes only add to the character of the guitar. The ugliest Gibson Les Paul I've ever seen was a 1960 Les Paul without a mark on it. Seriously, it could have passed as new. For a 50 year old guitar, that's just wrong :saddowns:

Probably because I've always had my guitar above my belt when I play :v:. Changing that now cos I don't play a lot of shreddy stuff anymore though.
