If you look on Blackstar's site it should give you a list of retailers wherever you are. If not you could try ordering from Thomann?

I hope your figure is $250 US if you're looking for something that will truly be heard over drums.
A Peavey Vypyr 75 would do the job decently. That, or a high-wattage Crate.
If you're willing to buy secondhand, I have one of these and in terms of tone it has plenty of options. No modeling and only a couple of basic effects, but the range of distortion you can get on it is great.
I have a Marshall MG250HDFX or whatever, and it is a pretty cool piece of amp. I think I got it around $450 or something though.
I just learned how to play my first song, "Sunshine of Your Love".
It's awesome.
About a year ago I donated my guitars to a school near me because I was moving and didn't want to deal with taking them, they weren't anything special but they weren't shit either. However now I'm really looking into getting a new, nice guitar/bass to play again. I was looking at something like this, but I'm not completely sure. I'm looking more towards a bass for around or under 500 USD, is there anything you guys would recommend? (I'm not new to playing guitars)

You just inspired me to relearn that song properly (ie playing it on more than one string).
The solo is so goddamn cool, even though quite simple.

Never ever buy a Höfner violin bass.
Never ever buy a Höfner violin bass.
Cool. Anything else to add to that or are you just going to leave me at that?

Under 500? I suggest these... I freaking LOVE my thunderbird...

Buy a Squier, or if you can find one, a used Fender. You can never go wrong with that.

I was looking into these as well, hows the general sound on her?
I should also mention I'm looking for something that sounds decent with jazz.
The normal t-bird is okay, if you're into humbuckers.
The Pro-IV is... More louder than the normal version.
Sound samples.

Probably my prime candidate, pretty much what I'm looking for. I'd still like to see what other options I may have though.
I can recommend them, which is scary because I don't like Gibson or Epiphone that much.
They're versatile, good sounding, not too heavy, not too light and they don't cost that much.
The only problem is the horrible neck dive.

give me a resaon why you should never buy a hofner violin bass?
Did a complete strip and clean of my stingray, and tried Raw Linseed oil on the rosewood.
Damn it looks and plays good now, Just need to re-do the Gunstock oil on the back of the neck.
I had a dream last night that I found a light blue telecaster at a thrift store for $30.

I bought it and beat up a couple muggers with it.
So now it's my dream guitar.
You're a good person.

Don't buy them, I always hated T birds.
All the ones I played had bad action, were neck heavy, and it felt chunky sitting down in your lap.
The only thing I sorta liked was the sound and the looks.
I went with:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Squier-Vintage-Modified-Jazz-Bass-103726584-i1166457.gc
The other ones I liked were:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone-Ltd-Ed-Korina-Flying-V-Bass-581874-i1472408.gc
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone-EB-3-SG-Bass-101514834-i1167495.gc
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Sterling-by-Music-Man-SB14-Electric-Bass-Guitar-105326144-i1441959.gc
I still want to try one, but no one near by actually has them in or even knows what they are.

I like mine, it feels really nice to play, it just sounds kinda meh. I keep wishing I'd bought a thunderbird since then, I tried one of the silly emo versions and it sounded pretty alright.
I need new strings for my strat wannabe. Anyone want to suggest some strings to me?

Get some Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkeys. They last long, fairly cheap, and they sound good to me.

I need to be good at guitar and have limitless amounts of creativity and get this
Here is a cover of Money I recorded tonight. Not too good but for some reason I wanted to upload a cover tonight. Will be doing another version of course. Warning, the audio is cracks a bit, I can't figure out why this is happening as of yet, when I record from stereo mix in any other program it sounds fine, but when I combine my webcam in the mix it gets like this.

Are orange amps good for metal sort of tones? because it looks like it's strictly classic rock kind of stuff
I think the best amp for its price is the Peavey Vypyr if you're into rock/metal sorts of things, if not a Vox vt30 would be great
yeah I don't think I'd ever buy a vox
There's nothing wrong with your G-400. That Line 6 HAS to go.
Also, give us a budget cap, and some sites to poke around in. Since, y'know, most of us aren't from Australia, and many stores don't have locations in Australia.
Don't got a line six lol
Um, maybe an amp within $400 AUD, little over depending on circumstances
http://www.blackstaramps.co.uk/products/ht-amps/ht-40.html

I've heard a lot about blackstar amps, are they any good?

I've been playing with this solo as well, it's a lot of fun to play. Your vibrato really needs some work but other than that it looks good! Always great to see people playing gilmour's masterpieces.
Here's a cover I made yesterday.
give me a resaon why you should never buy a hofner violin bass?
It's short scale. (Well, actually that isn't a good reason, buy it if the regular 34 inches are too much for you.)
It's completely hollow, so it breaks easily and is prone to feedback.
It's unbalanced, due to the hollownes of the body it has extreme neckdive.
There's virtually no thumb rest available.
It sounds crap. Seriously, I still don't know how Paul Mccartney got his bass to sound like that.
