What is the appeal of the shape of deans? Compared to their "razorbacks", I think that a BC rich is the eqivilant of a PRS compared to the razorback. That's how ugly I think they are
I don't like the Razorback. It's too METAL AND BRVTAL. I do however, like the less BRVTAL version, the ML. Which, coincidentally, I want.
The best people play razorbacks :v: *runs away*
I would say that Dime was the only great person to play one, but he didn't even get a chance to play one. And what's hilarious about that girl (other than the fact that the guitar is bigger than she is) is that she could give my dude friend a run for his money, shredding wise :v:

It doesn't matter though, I just don't dig the V as a shape entirely and I've never played a dean myself but everyone in this thread says that they suck v:v:v
It's a kinda combination of Explorer and Flying V, which I both like. I like the V headstock :saddowns: Indeed, a lot of people do say that Deans suck, but I am going to hold my judgement until I can get to the music shop I know in Aberdeen, as they'll most likely have a much, MUCH wider range than the music shop here. Here, the only bass guitars in the shop are: 5 string Fender J-bass Fleabass 4 string Squier P-Bass That's it. :v:
Lol, I see. If you like the explorer (which I think is a decent shape) AND the V you've pretty much got a lot of appeal. There are 3 music stores worth seeing (or that I have seen) that I go to, and I've never seen a Dean there, or maybe I haven't been looking hard enough [editline]07:16PM[/editline] then again I just pick up whatever has the biggest price tag
It's annoying at the small range of basses. There are at least 25 electric guitars, 20 acoustics, 10 fiddles, a saxophone, about 5 mini electric guitars for kids, 10 ukuleles, and then, finally, 4 basses. I have a sad when I go because of the small range :(
that's kind of weird, at one of the stores near my place it's like 6/10 of it is guitars and 4/10 basses. Then the other is like 7/10 guitars and 3/10 basses
Hopefully I get this job I applied at so I can afford some stuff.
You live in adelaide right Joe? [editline]08:17PM[/editline] Or maybe I'm confusing you with someone else
Victoria :colbert:
I have a Stiletto Extreme 4, it's pretty good but I wouldn't get it again.
Is this a good pedal? http://www.billyhydemusic.com.au/shop/view/7283/legacy-distortion-pedal/ Its going cheap at the moment. Also, would it be an okay sound if I use it on my bass?
You're judging Deans by their looks, obviously you guys don't know shit. [editline]11:21AM[/editline]
I like your bed sheets :v:
Cheers. [editline]11:23AM[/editline] You guys are forgetting one thing : It's the guitarist, not the guitar.
Get pedals and shit?
I have a digitech RP500, pretty much all I need
You guys are forgetting one thing : It's the guitarist, not the guitar.
That's like saying its the driver not the car. No matter what, even if you ressurect colin mcrae from the goddamn dead. Your shitbox '99 Honda civic is still going to be a shitbox and preform worse than anything else. [editline]09:42PM[/editline] Admittedly a bad guitarist can make a great guitar sound bad....just like a bad driver can drive an Aston Martin badly. [editline]09:42PM[/editline] ITT car analogies
Deans have really bad tone, a guy I know has one.
Mustaine plays a Dean and has a fucking amazing tone. It's really down to the amp a lot more that the guitar. A lot of the Dean bashing in this thread is just people jumping on the bandwagon of bashing Dean and B.C. Rich and other 'metal' guitar companies. The truth is their entry model guitars are pretty average (as with a lot of other entry level guitars), their USA made guitars are great instruments.
I found the guitar of my dreams! Epiphone Les Paul "Black Beauty" Deluxe. Only 650 bux oh god oh god oh god oh god oh god!
Im only 200 bux short FUUUCK :(
Why do you say the Eclipse is better than the Les Paul Studio? And I don't know that I'd like a 6 or 7 more yet, that's part of why I wanted to try 'em firsthand. For all I know I'd like the 81/60 EMGs' sound more than the 707s'. Hell, I don't know that I wouldn't still want the Interceptor if there's odds I could resell it if I thought it sucked. I don't really have a price range so much as I'm willing to spend whatever I need to. If it's cheap, whoo, if not, que sera sera.
ESP Eclipse is an indescribably better guitar than a Studio grade Les Paul. Better construction, better woods, better hardware and better electronics. Seeing as you seem to have a comfortable budget, I'd go for an LTD EC401 and an Agile Interceptor, which will probably stack up to less than the cost of an NT-7, and that way you'll know what you prefer without blowing too much money
Here we go this is my bass, its huge compared to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4g8q6mxMoE
You best be joking. Are you playing bass with a pick?
You're judging Deans by their looks, obviously you guys don't know shit.
I wouldn't buy a razorback even if it was the single best guitar on the planet. You really gotta be into the whole pointy thing... [editline]01:20PM[/editline]
You best be joking. Are you playing bass with a pick?
I don't get why there's some taboo against that.

[editline]01:20PM[/editline] I don't get why there's some taboo against that.
Then you're just as bad as the people buying Deans just because they're pointy and "metal", you know.
You best be joking. Are you playing bass with a pick?
It's so much easier to play an acoustic bass with a pick.
Gonna get a Blackstar HT5C tube combo next weekend.
