Believe it or not it was probably the best guitar in there. Everything else was cheap crappy brands that I have not heard of.
Oh my fucking god, kill it with fire
You really don't have the played time on guitar to criticize a guitar company.
I can criticize it for it's ugliness and yes I have that right btw there is no such thing as "played time" for preference amigo
I can criticize it for it's ugliness and yes I have that right btw there is no such thing as "played time" for preference amigo
You can criticize the looks, but you criticize the guitar company dean itself. What do you know about them? Have you tried more than one dean or have you ever tried one? You seem very biased. Blatantly stating your opinion without being polite makes you look pretty stupid imo.
No I've played them before at my local guitar store I don't like the looks more than anything, but the ones I played weren't spectatular, at least of the same quality of ones that were in the same price range. Sorry I don't make a beeline for a guitar that I don't really like, jeez you're defensive. Plus this is an internet forum, it's made for stating opinions so deal with it. I sorry you're so offended I said "Kill it with fire" about a certain guitar, and I can't recall commenting/complaining on the actual quality of Dean guitars recently Anyway back to the thread at hand I've been working on improv recently, I realise that there are fragments of shapes you can play ie a fragment of the E shape if you're playing a bar chord. I know how to mess around with that, but I'm having more trouble with an A shape fragment (I think it's called a fragment) So I cbf making a tab so bear with me Fretting a A shape, for a bar chord at the 5th fret so I'm playing a D Barring 5 strings with my first finger, and 4 with my 3rd. My teacher said that if I move my first finger down to where I am fretting those 4 notes (which make up that A) shape, I'll have my 2nd, 3rd and 4th fingers free to hammer on/pull offs and make little licks and riffs out of it I just was wondering if anyone can understand what I'm saying, which of those notes can I actually play (eg the frets alligned with my 2nd and 3rd fingers), because I can't make anything that sounds good

Yes it's an internet forum. Yes you're aloud to state your opinion, but that never excuses you for using silly phrases like kill it with fire. Maybe I'm stuck up or maybe I just hate seeing a silly phrase that's said usually by the idiots of the internet being used by a fine member. To help you with your problem I'm not understand what you're saying entirely. When you say A shape do you mean the A chord shape? If so major or minor? Can you be a bit more definitive I'm not entirely sure what you mean
It's a major shape, and yes I meant the A chord shape, sorry if it's a litte hard to dechipher. I'm sorry if I sounded like a prick there also I just never said they were shit guitars, I just don't really dig the shape. And no you're not stuck up either, I'm just very conventional when it comes to guitar shapes. If anything I was being an elitist. Ask rad, I've complained about his love of Vs every couple of pages, it's just a personal thing. And I realise that almost everyone here is better than me at guitar lol, that's why I'm posting questions so I can get better. Now I'll go practice some more, which will help too
If your doing a A chord shape we mean E-- B-2 G-2 D-2 A-0 E- Are you then doing this shape except on a D note? It's hard for me to decipher what your saying entirely. Let's simplify a bit. You're doing a Major chord in the a shape for D. That means you would be playing. E-- B-7 G-7 D-7 A-5 E- But insted of playing it as a bar chord he wants you to play the 7 7 7 part with your index finger. Think of the major scale and how to run it up and down the neck. Just used those notes I'd guess is what he means. Ask him how to run the major scale up and down the neck if you don't already know how to.
Why the hate on the Dean ML? It's a pretty badass shape, a lot nicer than Razorbacks anyway. It was good enough for Dime, it's good enough for any of you mortals :colbert:

I mean...the frets just suddenly angle instead of staying straight. 'The fuck?
