Can't go wrong with a P bass. Very common, so they're infinitely customisable, they can be used in any genre as well. Might wanna go for a Ibanez or something though.
Example, you can get:

Are Ibbys better than a Squier or the Thunderbird would be? Also is that the best amp for the price?

My friend prefers my $300 Squier J bass to his $600 Ibanez
Tips on learning to sing whilst playing complicated chord progressions?
Tips on learning to sing whilst playing complicated chord progressions?
Play them slower? Or just get used to the chords so much that you don't even know that you playing them while you play them.
Tips on learning to sing whilst playing complicated chord progressions?
Start slow, first try to master the progressions so that you don't need to focus on your playing so much. Then try singing.
I'e always thought those look really hard to get accustomed to
The fan fret Dingwall bass I tried in London was actually pretty natural. It took me more time to get used to the 36" low string scale than the fan fret. It's a much more natural and flowing angle for your wrist to follow, because near the nut your fingers tend to point away from you, much like a fanned fret, and near the body, the opposite tends to apply, again following the fanned fret. I'm a fanfret fanboy I must say, shame those Agiles are pretty high priced :saddowns:
Does anyone have any advice on a good practice routine to maintain? I practice everyday for hours on end but it seems I don't make progress until the following day.
Does anyone else get that?

Depends. Ibanez quality is generally much better than Squier so you'd probably be better off going for one of those. ANd yes, I believe that Rumble is the best for the price. I've played around with one before and it's fantastic.

How often do you guys practice and what kind of routine do you follow? I'm looking to find a better way than what I'm currently doing.

I just covered songs alot and did not have set times to practise, and now I am pretty much awesome at guitar  The best way to learn is to have fun while doing so, if you get frustrated make an break! Also watch some youtube videos on techniques because there is always that "*click* Aha!" effect for alot of things!
