I've never liked SGs closest I've come to liking them is when I played a friends ESP Viper and really enjoyed it [editline]08:43PM[/editline] white SGs look pretty sharp though
I'm considering returning my low end Crybaby and going for either an Ibenez Weeping Demon or a Snarling Dogs Super Bawl Whine-O. I've heard that these are really versatile pedals. Any opinions or other suggestions? I need something that can cut through heavier distortion.
Am I the only one that can play everything without any hassle?
Yes. After having my Ibanez RG for some time and learning a few solos, I went back to my Squier Strat just out of curiosity, and found the cutaway of the lower horn was not big enough to allow me to stretch to play the solo to Symphony of Destruction, for example.
Am I the only one that can play everything without any hassle?
I wish I was like that...
Am I the only one that can play everything without any hassle?
You must be this guy.
Did anyone mention Christopher Arp yet? :smug:
Peavey 6505 vs a bugera 6262. I like the price of the bugera but I like the reliability of the peavey. and I love the tone of both. any suggestions?
Peavey 6505
Yeah, as long as you've got the money, go for the Peavey
You must be this guy.
That's not that hard, practice sweep picking for like a year and anyone could do that. It's just practice, practice, practice, he wasn't playing anything difficult, it had a very simple rhythm (no syncopated polyrhythmic mind-fuckery), all it had was speed.
Anyone wanna buy a Dime D100 amp or a randall RG100ES amp?

It's his "I don't give a fuck" expression on his face.

I hate it. It just looks like someone has sat it in a case for 50 years with the simple intent of selling it on for money. It doesn't look like it's ever been played, and doesn't look like it's ever been enjoyed. I baby my guitars but they have some dents, some scratches, and some character, none of which that thing has. If ever I had the money to buy a 1960 Les Paul, this is something like what I'd be going for, but I'm sure people will disagree. (the pic's of a '59 but use your imagination :v: )
if I were to buy a vintage guitar I'd like to have it as it was when it was new not all fucked up from all the previous owners because there's a difference between vintage and used
Did it happen to someone that the strings do a weird metallic sound even though they are perfectly tunned? They are Galli Ball End strings on a Spanish Guitar.
if I were to buy a vintage guitar I'd like to have it as it was when it was new not all fucked up from all the previous owners because there's a difference between vintage and used
You're right. Used means it has been owned before, vintage only refers to something's age. You can have a beat up guitar that's vintage, and you can have a used guitar which is relatively new. I imply in my post that I don't like guitars which have been around for 50 years to look brand new, not that I want it to look like it's been thrown down a set of stairs. I would want it to look like it had been played. That one just looks like any Les Paul Standard Sunburst you could buy from any Guitar Center
Hello there fellow guitarrists, I've been playing guitar alot recently, and I'm going to start lessons soon. I have cheap les pauls imitation. http://teamintlco.com/Sx/ProductsShow.asp?ProductType_ID=2&ProductSubType_ID=16&ProductSub2Type_ID=0&Product_ID=1001 I'm saving money to buy a new guitar, in the middle price range, say a 400ish euros. Which models do you guys recommend? On a side note, instead of saving for a medium priced guitar, should I consider saving for a really expensive one, like 800 euros? I'm not in a band or anything, and pretty much anything is and improvement from what I have now. On another side note, what about amps? I need a new small and portable amp, with features such as distortion, gain, etc. Thanks in advance : )

Just bought one of these for $250 Thought mine is a MIM not an American Looks very close to what I bought though.

http://www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_les_paul_standard.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_mustang_i.htm Not including cables or anything, but you can pick those up cheap anyway. But there you go, good quality guitar, and good budget practice amp. Or if you want, an Epi SG http://www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_sg400_ch.htm
Any multi-effects pedal would work pretty easy. Or you could get a recording interface and do it that way. There are programs like Amplitube and others that can act as an amp simulator which would work well with recording interfaces.

Should I get a fender strat for that price, for example?

I plug my bass in, then plug my laptop into the "Aux In". Headphones on and I have a load of effects and no disturbing anyone. The other way involves plugging your guitar into the computer, but if you haven't got your sound card set up correctly it's going to be a pain in the ass for a number of reasons*. *You may get a LARGE delay, You can counter act this with ASIO4ALL, but then you have another problem, ASIO4ALL takes over the sound driver so you can't play music unless you play it through ASIO4ALL. This isn't a problem if you have a proper sound card with REAL ASIO drivers.

To stay within the 400 Euro budget, you'd have to go for 300 or less on the guitar. But there are plenty for that price, and the postage would be free as far as I know.
