No, seriously - everyone's so "hurr pick on a bass is so noobish"
Just... why? Someone finds it comfortable, and it doesn't sound bad either.. so just why not
I agree, everybody should play how they find comfortable

Im only 200 bux short FUUUCK :(
I was looking up this guitar last night.
It looks great, and is apparently a great guitar.
However, a lot of people have mentioned that the gold finish fades/wears off the hardware very quickly/easily.

Don't know how it applies to Epiphones, but my Samick suffers this problem.
The tailpiece looks like new, but the screws are becoming "silver", the T-o-M bridge is still nice and gold. Pickup covers nice and gold, apart for the screws holding them, which are getting silver
Still, gold hardware on a black guitar looks... great
Mustaine plays a Dean and has a fucking amazing tone. It's really down to the amp a lot more that the guitar.
It's a matter of option. I find Mustaines sound on the first albums pretty fugly. I dont like the general sound of bc riches and deans either. I don't mean they never sound good, but in my option they are quite spiritless.

Yeah. Especially the finish on the stopbar tends to wear off quite easily.
It's so much easier to play an acoustic bass with a pick.
It's so... Guitar-ish. Bass is supposed to be played by hand. (Or with a bow, considering the fact that double basses were here first)
By that logic, guitars should also be played with fingers, as thats how they were played from the beginning.

I have one by a different company, and the gold finish has worn away and it looks a bit rubbish now. So bear that in mind.

Then why don't you do it? :smug:
Then why don't you do it? :smug:
Just think of the huge neck you'll need to actually get your fingers between the strings.

It's called nails.

They sound spiritless? now I've heared everything.
The guitarist may be spiritless, not the guitar.

Why hello there

Would anyone be interested in buying a Fender American Standard Stratocaster from me? I bought it from Musician's Friend about 3 months ago and played on it a few times, but it still looks and plays as if it just came from the factory. I'm selling it because I'm not satisfied with the Strat tone. I owned a shitty Strat ripoff for years and learned to play on it, so I thought I would get a real Strat. Turns out I prefer my Les Paul in terms of tone and playability.
It's this exact guitar, in Cherry Cola (rosewood fingerboard), everything included (except strings):

I paid $1000 for it, asking $800. I can get pictures up if anyone is interested. I live in Maryland in the US.
Then why don't you do it? :smug:
Because I think you have a bad way of thinking, and I think playing with a pick is mroe comfortable?
I have one by a different company, and the gold finish has worn away and it looks a bit rubbish now. So bear that in mind.
I guess if you look after it you wont have that a big of a problem with it, cousin to me has a JD Les paul black n gold. Its 3 years old and the gold is still like new
I was looking at the Jackson Rhoads series, and I think some of them look quite nice, but they have really good prices, anything I should know?
Im open to suggestions about other guitars too, Im just hunting around and hopefully going to a music shop soon so I can try some out.

I don't have them, yet I finger pick my LP.

You shouldn't give a shit how its supposed to be played. Hell, every few days I pick my guitar and put it on my knees and tap it with two hands like a piano. Being honest I often ask our bassist to use pick because it sounds munch better imo. You can't get that sharpness with your fingers.

Think I got a good deal?
Fuck yes, that is worth about $800 new, amiright?
according to ultimate guitar, YES. It was only played once...
How the fuck did you get that for $400?
Local guitar shop. Old teacher hooked me up with it. To make along story short, He sold it to me for 400 and the case came with it for free.
Seeing as you seem to have a comfortable budget, I'd go for an LTD EC401 and an Agile Interceptor, which will probably stack up to less than the cost of an NT-7, and that way you'll know what you prefer without blowing too much money
That's an idea.
Though aren't the LTDs kinda shit in comparison to the standards? Looking 'em up online I'm kinda unimpressed.
Why is it I can't even slightly like a guitar that doesn't have the Super strat body style?
I'm looking to start recording guitar tracks on my computer through my amp, but I'm not sure what kind of connections I'd need. I have a normal cable to plug my guitar into my amp but I don't know how to connect the amp to my computer, or what's needed to do that. Anybody here know what kind of stuff I'd need to do this, or am I going to be stuck with directly recording the guitar to the computer without going through my amp to get its effects I'm used to using?
Notes: Guitar is a Schecter Hellraiser DLX, amp is a VOX VT30
Any help appreciated.
