My friend has a Schecter, an Omen 6 I'm pretty sure. I haven't played a huge amount of them, but I've heard great things. I think when I do eventually buy a new guitar I'll spend $700 plus on it I really love the colour/appearance of the hellraiser I mean come on, that's beautiful I especially love the little shiny edge/line around the body, it's really nice
My current tunings are: AL200: Drop C FM200: D Standard JS1: E Standard DK2M: E Standard SoCal: E Flat Standard
cool al terrible guitars my fav guitar is steinberger 3k to buy it its amazing
al terrible guitars
Not really, no.
I've never played a stienberger before [editline]13th October 2010[/editline]
My current tunings are: AL200: Drop C FM200: D Standard JS1: E Standard DK2M: E Standard SoCal: E Flat Standard
I like standard tuning :Z
Standard tuning is good for most things
I can only standard tuning because I am a noob and don't know how to tune to others. And mostly I never had to.
Buy a tuner. Always worth having. I have one so I can detune, but I never bother. I'm happy with the range of notes I get in standard, but sometimes Drop D is necessary (Walk by Pantera is in this tuning I believe)
Standard and Drop D for me (or C Standard and whatever the drop version of that is called (?drop a#?) for chugging metal shit). My old squier that I have I stuck strings that were a bit too heavy gauge but instead of changing strings and possibly protecting the guitar from permanent damage I have decided to make it a pseudo-bass by tuning it down a fuckton until the strings are playable. Sounds hilarious Occasionally Open G on finger-picking acoustic stuff though, now that is an awesome tuning for improv, no matter what you play it pretty much sounds good.
Standard tuning has the required happy bright feeling I prefer
I prefer playing 1 step down aka D Standard.
It depends what you're playing. I use my Jacksons for lots of stuff like Sepultura, and really anything in standard. My Charvel stays in its tuning for Stratovarius, my Alexi for Children of Bodom etc etc etc etc. You tune to a song, you wouldnt play Kashmir in drop b
Maybe the fact that the headstock says Epiphone, your problem easily fixed by buying a new guitar.
I love my Epiphone... Just as good as a Gibson would be except maybe for the pickups, whitch are great too. Only build flaw I have in it is that the holes for the plastic thing surrounding the bridge pickup are drilled slightly in the wrong places. The buzz didn´t even happen untill I changed the strings (at least I don´t recall it happening).

Tune E to match D string. I just don't know how to get C standard or whatever as I've never needed to.
I got a tuner and I know how to drop D. Tune E to match D string. I just don't know how to get C standard or whatever as I've never needed to.
Just hold the 3rd fret on the A string (or a C note) and tune in 4ths (or the way you tune to standard) from the bass note (low E string) that you just tuned to C.
Another way to tune to drop D is hold the seventh fret on the E string, then tune it down to match the A string.
If you can't tune down to drop D, without a tuner FROM standard than you should get your shit together I find it easy, I mean it's not a difficult task [editline]13th October 2010[/editline] I've had some success with improvising this week as well, I got a lesson tomorrow which I'm looking forward to
I can tune to drop B from standard without a tuner
I can tune to drop B from standard without a tuner
It's possible to tune to anything when you know the notes on the fretboard.
Your guitar may be in tune with itself, but without the gift of perfect pitch, a tuner or a reference pitch, how do you know the whole guitar is in tune with anything else?
Your guitar may be in tune with itself, but without the gift of perfect pitch, a tuner or a reference pitch, how do you know the whole guitar is in tune with anything else?
No such thing as perfect pitch in humans afaik, but yes this is very very true. So tuners are necessary when you think about it.
Actually there is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absolute_pitch
Schecter C-7/C-8. Played a C-7 Blackjack just the other day. It was VERY nice.
I have one, one of the best guitars I've ever played.
Maybe I'm being biased, but they release a LOT of terrible guitars.
Not really, they just have a couple budget models like everybody else does.
their Les Pauls are just poor imitations
Yeah, you played a super-budget disposable model.
I'd just like something with a darker, kind of heavier tone. I mean I was gonna eventually turn this SG in a more heavier orientated guitar eg EMGs, heavier strings, ect but I just decided not to ruin it.
Unrelated, I guess, but I really like having something with a 30" neck. Still sounds heavy, even with light strings.
but their Les Pauls are just poor imitations
Do you even know what you're talking about?
No such thing as perfect pitch in humans afaik, but yes this is very very true. So tuners are necessary when you think about it.
Perfect pitch is real. One of my college tutors has it. It's creepy

Plays better than any other $300 guitar on the market, and many that are more expensive. Can't wait to get my hands on a real C1.

He's not. He's saying that in his opinion the Omen is better quality than other guitars in that price range. Generally though, better quality guitars are more expensive so it's a fair assumption to make that an expensive guitar will be high quality.
