Ugh. I need to learn a fair few things to be able to do this cover project the band I'm in has decided to do. We're playing thrash, earlier Metallica, Megadeth and such. Anyone got suggestions for what we can play? I'm not the most advanced bassist yet so stuff with a simpler bassline would be cool.
You may not like the black album as its not thrashy but all songs on that is pretty easy. Enter Sandman, Of Wolf and Man, Sad but True, Unforgiven, Roam and Misery. Misery is a great song and a fucking amazing intro. God that failed may be a challenge but its a great song.
I'm currently learning guitar. So, does anyone have any songs that will be fun but easy for beginners? To be honest, I'm thinking about giving up, but I really don't want to disappoint the people that know I am learning. Also, just give me guitar tips in general, please.
Teach yourself how to play chords. C, A, G, E, D - All major. Then learn minor equivalents. Once you've done that continue learning chords you don't already know. Also practise scales, go on the internet - Ultimate guitar or something and look up major and minor scales. Do that and you'll be able to play an ass-tonne of songs. Also remember that nobody gets 'good' fast, and it takes hours of practice and stuff. blah.
Open Chords are a must [editline]21st October 2010[/editline] A basis for many other chord structures Learn your major and minor open chords, then sevenths and then do barre chords
Yeah I try to avoid fucking my neck up.
Yeah I remember the first show I went to, I ruined my neck it hurt for days
Just got some cactus picks. It's like they are stuck to my fingers when I play with them.
+ Doesn't sound fun Edit: Just had my lesson Now I have funk things to improvise too, cool

The ME-70 is something I look forward to getting. $500 is good enough for me. YouTube the Boss demonstration, it's ME series in jizz form.
Trust me when I say the ME-70 is worth the money.
I miss my Dunlop Jazz Stubby pick. It was my favourite, I only had one cause I nicked it from a friend and he didn't care. Lost it a while ago. 3mm, good grip, small as well so there's no extra material in the way. I'm using a Jazz III now, just not the same :saddowns:
I've never seen a Jazz III pick anywhere I go, maybe we don't have them here
So buy some online, or were they discontinued?
nah, I can get them, I just don't have any at home for practice
What's the difference between those and regular stubbies anyway? It doesn't look like they're listed on their website.
beats me
Just bought a Boss GE-7 EQ pedal, good stuff right thar.
Trust me when I say the ME-70 is worth the money.
I don't have $600 lying around, so I'll pass
I don't have $600 lying around, so I'll pass
Mine was just 270 euro's, so I don't know why the price in dollars is so high.
Caus Australias fucked we pay double.
I'm not spending $600 bucks on a pedal board right now
Yes, yes. I can finally play Layla in it's entirety. Excellent song to know because it's one of those good songs that everybody likes.
so my strings are shredding my fingers to bits. I was thinking of getting Steve Harris signature flatwounds, anyone got any other suggestions?
Melt bottle caps onto your fingers

So I got a Vox AD30VT and a Weeping Demon for 90 bucks. Gotta love guitar center
cock. I'm getting a wah, but I can't afford top notch stuff for now. so I'm going low price for a while, then ramping it to a weeping demon or crybaby
The guitar center near me had a bunch of used crybabies for like 50-70 bucks each. I think I might have gotten lucky with the Weeping Demon though
