Usually like double the price, slightly better hardware, made in USA or Japan I think. LTD's are Indonesia, and South Korea for the Deluxe's. I'm sure they use China and stuff for the really low quality stuff.
Really? If its not that big in quality difference than i dont give a fuck. also, what about this bass in comparison?
Apart from the crazy body shapes, what's wrong with BC Rich?
their body shapes are their only redeeming quality
Now, How do you guys feel about the thunderbird shape for bass, I found one at my local guitarshop, shall i go for it?
it's a baby explorer :iia:
Do you guys normally let your amp head do all the work in putting gain on your shit, or do you use a preamp?
Now, How do you guys feel about the thunderbird shape for bass, I found one at my local guitarshop, shall i go for it?
No, they have bad neck dive, feel bad when sitting down, and are known to break.
This week has been superb. It started off with the guitar selling, then a lawsuit, lawsuit retracted. Got some more money from a halloween party. Then yesterday ~6:00 I got canceled from the "Monster Concert" I'm okay with that. All the bands sucked, including my best friend's band, his bassist was amazing as always. Then this saturday I'm supposed to play with my other solo-gig-band at a library for halloween. Hopefully this goes well too! I'm not sure how much more of the intense gig playing my mesa/boogie can handle. It's been going through 100 degree heat so far, and it's the old Mark IIC tube amp. I've been using it at the 150watt setting. Do you guys know what it's called where you can crank the amp up 100%, but it keeps it down to a lower volume level through the electricity input? Like a resistor or something? That would be really helpful, thanks guys!

I highly recommend ESP's though, and I think any of their basses or guitars would be of great quality for their prices. Those two compared with each other though, it seems they would be more of a preference over one another. Only slight difference between the two.
I figured someone would've said that. Any others? Anything more bluesy?

I need moar effects
Why would you need more effects?
Why would you need more effects?
Why have less :v:
Why would you need more effects?
Because you can create different combinations of sounds and riffs, and that together will make for better improvising, keeps it fresh and interesting That and my effects are all pretty average, and with different effects I'll try different stuff which would sound cooler as a result Real question is why are you asking? Why wouldn't you want more effects?

My guitar teacher is great. We understand where we are coming from musically and skillwise. You see some curly headed chubby kid walking out of the place with an Epi LP II special who complains about bad lessons, but the ones who stay for a while really end up picking shit up fast. I played metal and whatnot on acoustic for 6 months, practising chords etc, then got my electric, started picking up more stuff, but I couldnt even move when urged to play a solo. This teacher not only taught me how to shred, but my technique was way off and he made it so much easier for me by running over the basics first, but playing with straightened up hands and better picking techniques. After that nightmare of adjusting the way I could play, tremelo picking and downpick speeds were through the roof, and shredding was alot easier thanks to the blocky hand and steel calluses I have. I'm still learning though, which is great because theres alot to learn like shredding a scale one string like Malmsteen, and that crazy two hand tapping that that Broderick does. These undevoted brats arent worth his effort.

That way you'll get tons of effects for a fraction of the price! :) [editline]29th October 2010[/editline]
Felt like playing a seven string song for a change. Easy as piss, but it's nice to play.
Wouldn't he have to bring his whole computer to gigs then?
Amplitube, Guitar Rig, and as far as I can tell the Waves suites and Revalver are actually fairly low load. I haven't actually looked at the numbers, but I've never had system resource issues with Guitar Rig no matter how many instances of it were up or effects were loaded. Running it on a new-ish laptop would probably suffice. [editline]29th October 2010[/editline] Unrelated: I don't actually know that much about amps, at least enough to identify them by sound/settings. Is there a way I could have you guys help me identify a couple of the models on GR4? The presets kinda suck, and I know there are artist setups listed on the bet, so I'm going to go copy a few setups starting with that one Gibson blog. But first, I need to know what it is I'm emulating.
Wouldn't he have to bring his whole computer to gigs then?
I'm under the assumption that he's not a touring guitarist who somehow lacks equipment needed to play.
Because you can create different combinations of sounds and riffs, and that together will make for better improvising, keeps it fresh and interesting
While that's true, too much effects only masks the notes you play.
That and my effects are all pretty average, and with different effects I'll try different stuff which would sound cooler as a result
That's what I don't get. Why would different effects make you do different stuff?
Real question is why are you asking? Why wouldn't you want more effects?
I like the clean tone the best. The only effects I have, and need, are an OCD, a delay and... Well that's it really. And in my opinion, too much effects are just like gold hardware and fancy boutique guitars, it's a no go for me.
Hey there guys, im going to buy a new amp to upgrade over the crappy amp that came with the guitar pack i have. I need a small amp with good sound quality for pratice and maybe for a band in the future. The price range is 200 to 250 euros. So far, I'm considering the 30 watt fender mustang II. I tried it at the store and it sounded great, however just about everything sounds better than my amp. So what do you guys think? EDIT: By the way, the guitar I have is a les pauls copy, will it sound ok with a fender amp? Or are fender amps designed with fender guitars in mind? Do they have a characteristic sound?

Why would different effects make you do different stuff.
Playing stuff with a wah pedal for example, I can't explain it too well but different stuff sounds better Like a technique on clean which would be boring would be awesome with a wah pedal Adds more depth
I need a seven string I wanna try tuning the top six in drop d then put the 7th an octave down from the low d
Everyone I know is convinced that 7 strings are only good for metal How correct this is, I don't know
Everyone I know is convinced that 7 strings are only good for metal How correct this is, I don't know
It depends. You can do whatever you want on them. Like some weird Jazz stuff or something.
I see
Some Jazz bassists have used 12 strings.
A little overboard sounds like my friend, he's pretty decent at bass but he thinks he needs +8 strings, when he doesn't (at the moment at least) While on the subject of the same guy, he was adamant that we "jam" although that's something that I'm avoiding to the max, and when he finally trapped me at his house I had no choice. Problem is, he's go no idea of theory which is perfectly fine, he just self taught himself songs and from there has kind of built on his improv by trying stuff out and kind of mixing it with the songs he has learnt. So then I'm like, okay how about we vamp in C minor? And he's like lolwut Meanwhile, his bass is in drop C and I'm playing in standard. Then I get a whole lecture from him, about him telling me that we can't jam because getting lessons is shit and it restricts your creativity, and that it's my fault we can't jam. v:v:v
Speaking of effects: Dat chorus.
So i have this standard SSS strat, and i wanted to change the bridge pickup to a humbucker. well said and done, the problem now is, that the humbucker produces a really low sound, can't hear it for shit, So my question is What fucking wire did i put wrong. OR what is wrong? The humbucker works. that i know
My favourite effect has to be chorus. Distortion doesn't count.
