I never realised quite how difficult singing and playing was until I tried it for lulz But I can't sing anyway so I'm not even going to bother trying
It's really not. It just takes a bit to get used to it.
I guess I'll never know, because I don't think I'll ever put any effort into trying
I've just got an American Standard HSS Fender Strat, and a Cort SFX-6R. Both great guitars, and the cort is one of the best acoustics I've ever played. Lol-worthy related story: When I first moved here for college, i met this dude who said he could play guitar, and had been since he was 10. so i told him that we should jam together one time. One day, we decided to bring our guitars to school, and he wanted me to teach him how to play I'm yours by Jason Mraz, so I told him to get his capo. He looked at me with a dumbfounded look on his face and said: "What's a capo?"
Did he not know what it is entirely, or just the name?
it could be worse
even if you dont sing in front of other people there are just some songs that are awesome to sing along with. like acoustic songs, nothing else matters, mama said, fade to black

I have a capo It just sits in the corner gathering dust
I use mine to play Jack Johnson, and shit like that. a surprising amount of songs dont sound right without a capo
I have a capo It just sits in the corner gathering dust
I have one, I don't use it for my guitar much, but I've found it's remarkably useful for other things. :v:
Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'm going to try and learn something really simple like "The Passenger" or "Rebel Rebel" seeing as the guitar isn't difficult for them. I'll get back to you on how it's going.
I use mine to play Jack Johnson, and shit like that. a surprising amount of songs dont sound right without a capo
I would really like to learn some Jack Johnson, how hard is it to learn? Hey guys, lately I've been struggling abit with a barre chord, F minor. I make the F, G major and minor, C minor, B major and minor sound clean, however with F minor all the strings sound clean except for the third one. The only way I can make it sound all clean is if I lift my index finger abit up, like a whole centimeter, which leaves my abit of my finger just hanging there, but it doesn't require me to make alot of force. Is this ok? If I do it normally my finger's creavice just lays on top of the 3rd string, make it sound badly. Should I keep practicing the regular way, and hope it will sound ok with time, or should I just leave a centimeter of my index finger laying off the fretboard?
Really? What like?
Mostly things like clamping down something while glue gets to work, things like that. I also once used it to clamp down a key on my keyboard to grind overnight in a game. :v:
A use for everything I see I use it to scratch my back sometimes
I would really like to learn some Jack Johnson, how hard is it to learn?
The guitar part is relatively easy, just requires a basic know-how of finger plucking and you have to be able to nail somewhat difficult chord switches. He also has this unnatural ability to be able to pluck out a little riff all over the fret board while singing at the same time. here's a video for example, he's playing at or with me, best song off his new album imo

Screwing around with monkey island theme again.
Man, I've got to learn that theme. Would be a great something to play while getting warmed up.

The F is going to be the hardest to do a bar chord with because of where it is, so mastering it up the neck and working down will help you. You may want to find some exercises to strengthen your grip. Also, experiment a bit. I find bars chords work a lot better when my thumb is in the right position and when the bony side of my index finger is doing the bar.

Well not so much wrong, but poor technique. Try using that knuckle or joint or whatever in that is in the middle of you're finger. It's like a ball. I use it for the G String. Hehe... g string...
2) My bad, I forgot the "s" after the year, they're not values pertaining to the units but when they were popular.
And now I feel like a tool because I forgot those three weren't out then. It's just those JTM45/50 cabinets. Fuck. This thing has nothing good for heavy stuff. Even the distortion sounds way too digital...y. Still nice for most shit, but I really don't want to go back to Amplitube to get my widdly on.
Screwing around with monkey island theme again. Hullu V3 is quite talented. Glad to see someone who can show off their skills here .
I fell in love with this song a few days ago, so here I am playing around with it (Duke's theme from Battle Arena Toshinden): False notes here and there.. but I'm not trying to show off. I just want there to be someone more than just Hullu who posts vids. :3:
SUDDERNCROZZ hooooooooooooooooooeeeeey
I was thinking of starting a little weekly competition or something where we'd post things like 'betcha can't play this' or full song covers something like songfight but more relaxed a little competition never hurt anyone especially if you're looking for some extra motivation to practice though I don't know how many of you guys would be interested in this

Do you guys use single coils or anything? Because I'm looking to buy some Texas Special pickups for my strat. If you do, what's your opinion on standard strat vs texas special?
