Here's some crappy improvisation I just did. Wasn't at all focused on keeping it clean, I was just trying to play ideas that came to my head, most of them coming out sloppy or bad but that's alright. I don't have a high e string at the moment. Also, I'm having a weird issue with getting noise when recording from stereo mix. It sometimes has no noise all of sudden, but there always seems to be noise when recording from my guitar and a track. Haven't figured it out yet, could just be my sound card. It is actually pretty good but I have to say you can slow it down a notch and use the backing track to compliment it further (This actually happened quite a few times though)
Don't really need a $400 six string for my kinda first bass. Thinking about this one http://www.guitarcenter.com/Squier-Affinity-5-String-Jazz-Bass-V-104482054-i1173424.gc Ive only heard nice things about it. Anyone have any opinions?
Always leave the Affinity series hanging, they suck.
FUCK YES! Just got Sir Duke down perfectly. I love that feeling of success after learning a song all the way through. /caps

If you can play this, you deserve a pat on the back.
Doing band recordings and I did a bass lick I am pretty pleased about (Last one) (Unmixed, Also That synth sound is getting changed, too sharp sounding)
Funky, I can hear a lot of Flea influence in there

I wish I could read music, but it seems like so much effort for something that I'm not that interested in doing I got the basics down, but it seems unless you're actually serious (like being a musician or something) it's not worth it
I had to learn to read sheetmusic because I play double bass.
Double bass is awesome
Hell yeah it is!

No but seriously, that tab looks stupid in its places. I doubt that's how the original player of the song plays it.
The hardest thing for me learning to shred waseither string skipping, or playing a scale on one string: I remember as a kid when I was thinking of what to play I'd go up and down the strings with my right hand so that helped when trying to sweep pick.

I want to learn how to read music. It's part of the course I'm on too, it's just bastard hard. I can read music, but translating it to playing the guitar is completely fucking my mind. It's doubly hard because of the guitar's repetition of notes, so you have to think about which note to play and which position to play it because of the context, on the fly. :byodood:
http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/navigation/guitar-amp-half-stacks-full-stacks?N=100001+338498+8&Ns=P_Price|0&rpp=20 would this be good for live shows?
Reading music is not that hard god damnit. You'll get it in two seconds, it's just building up a flow that's bastard hard. Now stop making silly excuses and Do It YoU fUcKS!!!
My friend is selling a 2nd hand Chinese Strat copy for £50 with amp and whammy, It's a few moths old. Is this a good deal? I've been looking to start playing guitar as well as bass (which I've been playing for a year). Is it a good deal, an average deal or is he ripping me off? Edit: the amp is a "a meridian stage pro ak517g or somefin" [editline]6th November 2010[/editline]
I want to learn how to read music. Did a new cover of an awesome song.
At the start I thought it was going to be Creeping Death.
