My friend is selling a 2nd hand Chinese Strat copy for £50 with amp and whammy, It's a few moths old. Is this a good deal? I've been looking to start playing guitar as well as bass (which I've been playing for a year). Is it a good deal, an average deal or is he ripping me off?
Edit: the amp is a "a meridian stage pro ak517g or somefin"
For £50.00 you can hardly go wrong.

Yeah, but if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Double bass is awesome
If only they didn't cost so fucking much.
Reading music is not that hard god damnit.
You'll get it in two seconds, it's just building up a flow that's bastard hard. Now stop making silly excuses and Do It YoU fUcKS!!!
To be fair, in a world with alternatives, it's not that big a deal to not know how to.
I started on sheet music and still keep a copy of finale on hand, but I can read and play from a piano roll better than anything else these days, and for guitar not using a tab if you've got one is just kinda silly.
Installed an BKP Painkiller in my bridge position of my PRS MM Baritone guitar! Sounds like a beast! Check out my awesome little low demo of it playing an selfmade outro instrumental of the Meshuggah song Perpetual black second! All strings tuned to Drop F and the 80 string tuned to E (yea standart bass octave E I said)

And yes I am using an basterd line 6 spider III
I will never forgive you for using this horrible line 6

If you want to make a living as a guitarist, like I want to, then you should be fucked to do it.
I don't though, :)

I can't start now, I've been playing for a year
maybe if I actually stuck with playing when I first started when I was 10
So much Line 6 hatred, my friend has got the stack version and I can't see why everyone hates it so much

I knew you were from some place like that. I asked you where you were from but I couldn't understand your response.
Anybody know of a way to shield a mixer or patch cords? I'm getting some wicked hum from being right next to the outlet I have all my shit plugged into right now, but I can't move my setup temporarily.
Not a terribly big deal, it's just ensuring whenever I have the gain up I've got a bunch of light noise in the background.

You sure the electrical flow in the place your at is not shit?
But no there's no way to shield a supposedly already shielded cord.
You sure the electrical flow in the place your at is not shit?
Wired by the best, seriously. I'm just that fucking close to it.
But no there's no way to shield a supposedly already shielded cord.
Well sure there is, I was just wondering if anybody knew of something that wouldn't involve buying Voltoid S-350 and making an enclosure for the mixer. Maybe I should have specified. A way of shielding my shit that wouldn't cost me a fuckton and be impractical as fuck for a temporary problem.

If you can find a good deal, get an insulated cord like a monster one. I found a great deal on amazon for $20 for approx 100ft cord. It stopped all the humming and hissing from my computer and my electrical outlets, which are horrible.
I wouldn't reccomend it for a live show you'll probably want a 2x12 rather than a 1x12 for live shows...unless you are using a Tube amp I'd imagine.
I have a 1x12 for shows. It's great, unless you're talking about playing metal or something. I'd suggest looking for a good brand with high watts for the speakers. Otherwise you'll be turning up the gain and nothing will happen, it will be pushing the amp to it's limits. And the limit is quiet for a small 5 watt amp, unless you keep it low and have a PA system on hand.
Most gigs that I play I use my 120w mesa/boogie amp, or a 60w blues deville with a PA system.

How would I get a Dani California intro / RHCP-ish sound on a Roland Cube 60?
Shit, bridge pin on my acoustic snapped in half, now I can't get it out and the string is stuck. Any ideas?

bass is a lot of fun. even my shitty P-bass can come in handy for punk
