[QUOTE=SolidSnake52;26025836].13s? Really? That would hurt my fingers WAY too much. I use DR medium-heavy .10s exclusively, love 'em to death. I float between wanting to play fast, and wanting to play mellow and melodic.[/QUOTE] Yeah, I just got able to start bending all of the strings on them. My fingers are sore occasionally after playing, but they have a nice deep resonance to them.

Well then, what about the Jackson RR24? [img_thumb]http://www.jacksonguitars.com/images/products/products/2913024898_xl.png[/img_thumb] [editline]13th November 2010[/editline] I specifically want the Floyd Rose in case you're wondering.
o ye got my new electric+amp for my birthday yesterday Can't play shit but it's fun to mess around with. Been VERY slowly learning past few months from my stepdad but now that I actually have a guitar I'm gonna start taking it more seriously.

All I can really play are simple AC/DC riffs and some scales :v: And some Metallica but I've forgotten all but Seek & Destroy lol. I'm considering that offer for your band member giving me lessons. I assume he does it as his actual job yes?
He's in college with me, does some odd jobs but most of his work is tutoring. He is licensed if that's what you mean though
That's what I meant yeah lol. Figured he would be.
He's on holiday til Tuesday, I'll give him a shout for you when he's back :)
Alright cheers  Do you know how much he charges? I take it that it's by lessons and not per hour or whatever yeah?
I'm not sure, it varies depending on petrol costs, but it's not obscenely high or anything :v:

Hey guys, I've been practicing alot, and I finally can play Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth at record speed. Now I need a new song to practice, preferably metal, although any song that is fun or allows me to practice things like barre chords is good, anyone have any suggestions? : )

The Four Horsemen is a pretty fun one. Pretty much ALL metal has power chords somewhere in the song, truth be told. If you're into power metal, Blind Guardian and Kamelot are also really fun to play.
Would a regular Cry Baby wah have a big enough range to be used on a bass?

It's really not that hard, just learn it slow at first. Hell most Metallica songs still apply, just don't go trying to learn Blackened, Dyer's Eve, or Damage, Inc. this soon. Kamelot has a couple easy rhythms. You might be able to play PARTS of Blind Guardian songs, but not a whole base track (no solo, all other parts though).

The black album is the easiest as every song is just power chords.

Hell, they're both alder with maple necks and unless you're considering an LTD, original floyds, so it really comes down to whether you want that passive H2-B or an 81.

It's just not justifiable at all IMO. [editline]14th November 2010[/editline] [QUOTE=tommyc225;26041784]You want a Jackson rr3 instead.[/QUOTE] RR5FR would be a better bet in a similar budget
[QUOTE=Pepin;26024950]I think a lot of Vai's stuff is amazing. His live performances are on par or better than the studio version. [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IrWyZ0KZuk[/media] There are a good number of his songs I wouldn't listen to twice though.[/QUOTE] He is undeniably good. He gets into what he is playing, but damn that guy looks like he is having some form of sex with his guitar. He needs to wrap his tool before he plays a performance.
[QUOTE=Darkslicer;26031862]Cool! me too  [img_thumb]http://www.axepalace.com/img/prs/SE/Mushok/silverburst/mmsb_sm.jpg[/img_thumb][/QUOTE] It looks so.. Plain
[QUOTE=Dopey Trout;26043327]The ESP is double the price though. It's just not justifiable at all IMO.[/QUOTE] I wouldn't touch a guitar with only one pickup to begin with, so neither is a good choice in my mind. I'm just saying, between the two, the only real difference is the pickup.

All you'll get this shit guitar which has a tone brighter than the sun and still sounds shit in Drop C which people think is necessary to tune in. A friend of mine who bought an Alexi-200 about a year ago for $1200au plans on selling it for $500. It's in perfect condition.
[QUOTE=Dopey Trout;26029377]Awesome me too :buddy: [img_thumb]http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq87/Dopey_Trout/Photo0013.jpg?t=1289654787[/img_thumb] :v: [editline]13th November 2010[/editline] Satch taps with his pick sometimes. Just gives a different sound [editline]13th November 2010[/editline] Overpriced sig guitar, makes you look like a fan boy, shit pickup, no versatility, surprisingly clunky neck[/QUOTE] You are lucky as hell. All I've got is an SE, which is still an amazing guitar, but I would kill for a Custom or a McCarty. [editline]14th November 2010[/editline] [QUOTE=Akimotoz;26031621]Well then, what about the Jackson RR24? In fact, I'd go as far as saying don't get a Rhoads style Jackson. They have horrible trebley tones, and are just really much worse than several similarly priced guitars which play the same sort of stuff better, like ESPs.
