Hell I wish I had my SG back, acoustic just doesn't do it for me anymore [editline]16th November 2010[/editline] It's only been gone for 3 days and I miss it like a son

Gone for one day and I had lost my mind.
well than you care share my pain. I just like electric more now, I started off only wanting to play acoustic, but to me electric is just so much more fun :(
What is a really good distortion pedal that is: -Under $100 -Sounds good -Can sound like rock or metal -Can sound like the red hot chili peppers.
I play in a chili peppers tribute band and my guitarist friend has this setup Amp + Pedals - Pedals Cry Baby -> DS-2 -> DS-1 -> Marshall Supervibe Chorus -> EVH Phase 90 -> Me-50 -> Marshall Ma50H Into a celestion loaded 4x12 I am a massive fan of the peppers and to my ears he has nailed the tone. But he has been in this band long enough that it has taken a fair amount of minute tweaking to get there. Unfortunately I am not 100% sure what he uses for what, I think he dials a slight crunch on the amp for that signature Frusciante grit. If you are interested I can find out more.
I'm terrible with dropping guitars... I don't even want to talk about it.
I have only ever dropped (and not caught) a cheap-ish acoustic! It nearly landed on my dog. :ohdear:
I've dropped my guitar heaps of times, shitty straps. But I've never not caught it. Thank God.

Still waiting for a call about my Jaguar, want to know how much it will cost me.
What size picks do you use that you were able to break it?
I have different pick thicknesses, and it was a quite thin one, it was a black pick with gibson logo and M for the size which is medium. [editline]16th November 2010[/editline] I broke the pick while doing pinch harmonics, and the string snapped when doing a bend and a vibrato.

Only thing I would ever use mediums for is if I had an acoustic lying around. I play with 1.26mm picks almost exclusively now.
I hope you weren't a sucker and paid through the nose for that thing [editline]16th November 2010[/editline] even if it is boxer-moisteningly awesome
Yes, I think Gibsons are way overpriced. Sure they are American made, but my South Korean made ESP is just as good quality as my friends Gibson SG, if not better.
You have to pay £1000s for a Zakk Wylde Gibson, but a Zakk Wylde Epi is about £500
You pay more for what's on the headstock
You pay more for what's on the headstock
This is the case with gibson and esp
This is the case with gibson and esp
That's true, but LTD is very good quality at all price ranges. Especially the deluxe LTD's. ESP's aren't too overpriced from some I've seen, but it can be hard to find true ESP's. They have a couple ridiculously priced signatures, but majority of their guitars are around $1000. [editline]16th November 2010[/editline] Speaking of ESP standards, ESP V's, ESP V's no where.
I'd much rather own a LTD Horizon than putting out a million dollars for some low end ESP.
I always manage to knock my fucking guitar. Don't ever let me hold your guitar, I WILL knock it on something. :v:

I got this, in cherry, for 5000 kroner. Roughly 500 pounds I guess.
what.
I have never had a single string break on my electric guitars. I don't understand what people are doing. :raise:
Lots of string bending. My kahler was snapping e strings like a motherfucker, so I unlocked the b and e string, and tuned them from the headstock rather than the tuning claw. I assume people with floyds might get a similar problem, when the claw starts putting a lot of strain on the higher strings, it increases the likelyhood of it snapping. Strats and Teles may also have a higher likelihood of breaking strings than a Gibson or something that uses top-mounted strings, because the strings take a steep trajectory downward after meeting with the bridge, puts a lot of strain on a small part of the string.
Can't you settle with one guitar?
I'm selling my Squier.
[img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/286964/schaller_straplock_chrome.jpg[/img_thumb] Worth every penny
I'd agree. There were countless times when I'd be playing and the strap would fall off and the guitar head would hit me in the head. With the locks not an issue now.
