A guitar you can't play when you're sitting, great.
That's the kind of thing I could do without a jig. Seems like a good method.
Though, I wouldn't be able to do the curve all the way up to the top like that, I like to have a flat surface near the bridge and pickups.
I found that it's really hard to keep the curve you want as you're sanding.
Probably. I might stick to a spoke shave because I'm epic with carving tools :v:
Plus, more control. I'll see, though. Should be starting a new project pretty soon. I'll do a bit with the grinder, and if doesn't work out, I'll go to the trusty spoke shave.

Would you be able to do something like this ?
It's not new. I personally think it looks a bit silly anyway :v:
better than something like this... (even though I love gibson :v: )

The way Rickenbacker does 12 string headstocks is pretty cool:

And that Gibson looks insane, in one way cool yet in another completely stupid.
The only Rickenbacker I feel I want would be the Ricks with two necks, one guitar and one bass.
Like the one Geddy Lee played during Xanadu, I think that was a 4080.
Yep, 4080:

Yeah, that's the one. Shame that they're about £2.5k.

Western and Spanish combined.
Innovative.

That's pretty cool, but I would figure it's pretty uncomfortable.
I fucking LOVE the way Rickenbacker Basses look, I wish more companies adapted that look into basses and guitars.
Just got back from the guitar shop, and I decided that Im going to get that Epiphone SG Prophecy EX. It had a great tone and I liked the way it played, and also comes with active pickups.
I also found out that I wasnt a VOX amp now, its smaller than my Marshall mg50dfx but the distortion was to die for.

Just bought a Blackstar HT-5 tubecombo.
It's incredible.

Still confused. Being a bassist, I only have 4 strings on my guitar.
Still confused. Being a bassist, I only have 4 strings on my guitar.
The low 4 strings (E A D and G) are octaved (meaning the extra string is the same note one octave higher), while the high two (B and E) have an extra string of the same pitch. Sometimes G is doubled instead of octaved.

I understand that, it's just the mechanics on the head that look confusing.
I might be able to get to a good guitar store in a day or two, does anyone have good experience with Epiphone SGs? Once I save up enough money, I was thinking of getting one.
Nice sound, but I don't like the feel too much personally

Mine's been way too good to me. I can't even bring myself to buy another guitar. The finish is nice and it can take a beating, the sound could be better, but thats just the stock pickups.
Best quality for the money, thats for sure.

I love my SG-310. Don't like the Epi SG Special much at all, but the SG-310 is awesome, especially after you lower the action.
It's a great all-around starter guitar, but if you're upgrading from something else to it, I'd recommend another guitar to be totally honest - at least something with a full 24 frets, like the SG Prophecy line or countless other LTD's/Ibanez's.

Having 22 or 21 frets is not a derivative design. It's like saying that humbuckers are better than singlecoils. Personally I'd rather have a 22 fret guitar because I rarely solo (at least to the point I need 24 frets) and because having the extra 2 frets pushes the neck pickup closer to the bridge changing it's tone in a way I do not like.

I listen to ALOT of Dream Theater. Ideally, I'd have a 24-fret baritone guitar.

I got a second hand SG and it's fucking amazing.

That's all well and good, but you shouldn't make out that your ideal spec's are what makes a guitar universally better than another guitar
That's all well and good, but you shouldn't make out that your ideal spec's are what makes a guitar universally better than another guitar
I state it like that because more options can't really hurt, especially if the guitar is well-made.
A 7-string can get in the way if you never use it, but an extra two frets is really just a harmless addition if you ask me.

My first guitar was an SG special, and I'm still amazed at how decent it is for the price. Buy either a 310 or a 400 and I reckon you'd get a fantastic guitar for the price :)
