Yeah I played a bass before and I didn't know it was fretless until I started playing it, slides are super easy and sound awesome though, I had no trouble playing it regularly...
I have yet to play a fretless guitar or bass... I'm very interested in one though. I might pick up a bass when i get the money. I just got an epiphone futura for 400$ so i'm a little bit dry on moolah. And also, i learned that playing helps so much when you are feeling down. my girlfriend came over this morning from a 40 minute drive (she recently moved) and broke up with me. So, I have been playing and it has helped in a way....
If you've got the muscle memory for chords, scales, etc. then removing frets shouldn't inhibit you much. You might want to make some form of visual marking where the frets used to be, though.
I'd really want to get like a really cheap fretless bass to mess around on. In fact I've always wanted to play bass as a sort of side project.
Got this amp today: Not only does it kick your grandma's ass, or your ass, it also kicks your unborn son's ass, so it's like a fucking free abortion. Nah, but it's good shit.
:ohdear:
What's the difference between Spider III and IV?
i have a 4 string acoustic bass guitar with wah wah pedal am i cool yet
i just payed for a new amp and guitar which i shall pick up in a couple of hours. the amp is a black star HT5 combo and the guitar is a fender custom shop, which looks stunning. the guitar has a rosewood fretboard with a birdseye maple neck, im not sure what wood the body is but it is done in a fairly light sun burst with a pearl pick gaurd. it has silver hardware and three seymour duncan Quarter Pound Staggered SSL-7 in white. i will post pics later once i get it also forgot to add that the guitar is a strat
Anyone own/tried a POD X3 before? Actually, any POD works. I have a POD X3 myself though and I'm completely in love. I dunno if I'd ever play a show with it but for playing at home and making covers, its beastly. edit: just realized this is a guitar thread. saw a picture of an amp and didn't think twice about posting. dunno if its off topic :\
That is a very beautiful piece hypno
You talking about the neck, or the video I posted? because I didn't make the video :v:
You might get a bent neck over time. What gauge strings are you gonna use?
Of course the neck will get an upbend, it won't warp, though. It's not ideal, but a slight upbend is still acceptable (will raise string action a bit) I'd probably be using .008 -
What's the benefit of not having a truss rod, or is it just because of time/money/can't be fucked?
I've got that same amplifier, the Line 6 Spider IV 75 watt one. It's so unbelievably awesome I want to cry.
What's the benefit of not having a truss rod, or is it just because of time/money/can't be fucked?
He's made a solid neck he doesn't want to chop up, i think
Alright here is some pics of my new guitar and amp, it plays like a dream.
He's made a solid neck he doesn't want to chop up, i think
You don't have to chop a neck up to fit a truss.
That Strat's gorgeous, and I really want that amp :(
You don't have to chop a neck up to fit a truss.
One piece neck you do. Gotta rout out a skunk stripe like on Fenders [editline]08:48PM[/editline]
I've got that same amplifier, the Line 6 Spider IV 75 watt one. I found out after buying my first guitar that it didn't have a truss rod. I didn't think it mattered, but now here it sits with an action of about 3 inches..
I always used to wonder why there was a hole in the top of my guitar :/
What's the benefit of not having a truss rod, or is it just because of time/money/can't be fucked?
The first two. No money/time (time to wait for parts). I suppose one benefit would be that the neck is lighter. A lot lighter.
