I wish I could find a way to busk with an acoustic bass and make it work
There's enough hipsters around that it might work, or could be a flop.

Maybe if I get ahold of my dads upright :v:
I hate the way my amp sounds, whatever pedals/mixing I use it's always really muddy and bassy and sounds terrible when playing lower riffs. Hopefully getting a POD will solve that.
High five for uprights!
That Flying V was awesome, then I saw it was made by Harley Benton.
Then it wasn't so awesome...
So it looked awesome, and I presume you clicked the link and listened to it, thought it sounded awesome, then saw it was Harley Benton and thought it was crap?
wtf

Don't get me wrong, the POD sounds cool. But if your amp sounds bad, then the POD won't make it better.
Unless you're intending on running the POD through something other than your amp, then you'll still be able to notice your amps "sound" within the modelling. If that makes sense.
Basically, the POD masks what you might not want to hear instead of changing it.
This only applies if you're running the POD through the amp. If not, disregard everything I said :)
Turn up the treble :v:
As I said, no matter what amp settings I use.
And Mesothere, I'm gonna be running it into my PC.
I have an Ibanez GRG170DX_BKN and saving for a Marshall MG 100 watt.
I've heard the MG series is supposed to be terrible
I have an MG15, if the 100 watt version is just the same but with more watts, stay away from it.
What exactly do they lack?
What exactly do they lack?
It just sounds generally bad, very digital. However it is quite old so they might have changed them by now.
Hmm, possibly

What am I saying I have no idea

We have the newest 100 watt head in my college. It's no better trust me. Sterile clean channel, overactive treble, fizzy digital distortion. It's everything that's bad about amps. A guy on my course actually managed to so disgustingly overdistort his guitar with it that you couldn't hear changes of pitch. It was just monotonous fizz.
Evil
I might get a low-watt (I think it was either 15 or 30 watt) Marshall amp, the music store in a nearby town has a couple good ones for a little over $100. I need more money though, because I already am saving up for an Epiphone Sg, and a PS3.....
I need a job.

I'm in the same boat. I want to get a new fuzz for my bass, a djembe, a ride cymbal, and build myself a computer, among other things
Fuck GAS
I'm completely stuck. I have no idea what guitar I want. So, I shall enlist the help of this thread, as your all seem pretty helpful.
I'm after a guitar for around £400 that will be suitable for playing indie and surf rock. The heaviest stuff I play is Muse-style stuff. Preferably it'd have coil tappable humbuckers and a tremolo arm. As for the style of the guitar, I love Telecaster, Les Paul, and Jazzmaster shapes.
I need assistance.
I have a Peavey Vypyr 30-watt, and I can't turn off tap tempo. I don't want tap tempo on.

When I play this, I use my fingers like this...
4, 1, 3, 2, 3, 1, 1, 2, 4
It feels like I'm doing the "1, 1-part" wrong, how should I play it? (I sort of jump from the first to the second). Should I bar the two or is it a better way of doing this?

I went:
4, 1, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3 /slide/.

:frogc00l:
I've become increasingly disappointed with humbuckers in the last little while. On this kind of guitar, I think a tappable humbucker wouldn't be as good as a single coil.
I've yet to hear what all those switches do on the Jaguar..
I can imagine series-parallel wiring, phase switching... anything else?

I don't have a guitar on me this precise moment, but you seem to be doing it the right way. You more or less barre it, but you mute and apply pressure so that the preceding string doesn't ring out.
I am having trouble with chord changes. I have been focusing on playing the rifts of songs as opposed to the chorus. An example is I can play the Scar Tissue rift and variations flawlessly faster than full speed but I can't change chords even if the are the same shape for my life.
What are some exercises to help with this.

I want one, but I can't find one for £400. They all seem to be around £600, and I cannot seem to find one used.
Does anyone know of any companies that do Jaguar-style shapes with similar hardware to the Jaguar above? The only ones that come with the hardware I want are Fender-made and are $800-over $1000, and I don't have that kind of money.

Agreed, I'd like to see something like this too.
How bout a Stratocaster?
In fact, I'm trying to get my hands on a used Mexican strat.
If theirs a huge chip in the side of a guitar can you fill it with wood filler then paint over it.
What do you guys think about this guitar? I'm looking at it for a grad gift:

I play everything except country and heavy metal.
