What do you guys think about this guitar? I'm looking at it for a grad gift: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Epiphone-Limited-Edition-Les-Paul-Studio-Deluxe-Electric-Guitar-105320576-i1449700.gc I play everything except country and heavy metal.
Looks good, just get some new PUs and you're good to go.
e---7--3-------------------------- B---------5----------------------- G------------4-------------------- D---------------5---2------------- A-----------------------2--------- E---------------------------3---5- When I play this, I use my fingers like this... 4, 1, 3, 2, 3, 1, 1, 2, 4 It feels like I'm doing the "1, 1-part" wrong, how should I play it? (I sort of jump from the first to the second). Should I bar the two or is it a better way of doing this?
That would be the fingering I would use. It's the most efficient way to play it. Bar the 2 strings with your first finger.
Gods I love my Maton MS500 Stays in tune awesomely well. Haven't tuned it for a week or two, and Its still fine. Feels great and sounds amazing.
Also cant get the correct fucking guitaring for my next song idea. So annoying. and its worse that I'm stuck playing notes in threes. whoops. no automerge
As I said, no matter what amp settings I use. And Mesothere, I'm gonna be running it into my PC.
Use your tone pot. [editline]02:01PM[/editline]
I want one, but I can't find one for £400. They all seem to be around £600, and I cannot seem to find one used.
http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_squier_jagmaster_upgrade_rw_sb.htm
Use your tone pot. [editline]02:01PM[/editline] http://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_squier_jagmaster_upgrade_rw_sb.htm
Different hardware and a Strat tremolo. And it's a Squier, which isn't bad, but I'd rather have a used Fender.
Yeah well, used Fenders usually go above their retail price. But there are some good ones on eBay. If you fingerpick though, the finish will come off the pickup cover.
If you fingerpick though, the finish will come off the pickup cover.
What? How do you fingerpick?
Finger pickin' rules
Playing Joseph merrick with your fingers is awesome. Pain in the ass though.
Use your tone pot.
As before, it still sounds bad. I just have a bad amp, it's that simple.
What? How do you fingerpick?
Lol, I rest my thumb on the cover that's why...

Finally got my new guitar (Dilemmas on page 2 here) The shop was all out of red Dot's so I played one with just a wood finish but didn't quite like the sound. I went to the other shop around the corner and found the white Artcore. Played it for 5 minutes, fell in love, and bought it immediately. It plays nearly everything with my Line 6 Spider 15w. I haven't tried heavy metal (Since it's not really my type of music) but with the proper effects I'd say it could even get there. Can't wait to gig with it. [editline]07:03PM[/editline] Pics Coming soon.
My poor guitars! The AC in my house has broken down, and now it's 92 degrees inside. This, combined with the 90% humidity of today, is noticeably starting to warp the guitars...
I love that amp. I have one myself.
What's a good Wah Pedal to use with it? I was thinking about getting the FBV Mk2 thats on the side of the box but from the reviews of it I hear everytime you change channel on it, the pedal defaults to Volume.
Artcores are fantastic, I have one, though it's tobacco, not ivory.
And very true. For the €400 I paid for it, it's the best buy I've made this year.
I have a black gibson SG [editline]12:37AM[/editline] I'm thinking of buying this... http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-Custom/1958-Les-Paul-Plain-Top-VOS/Overview.aspx the reviews are great, I looked up some videos and they sound great. I really love the sound of les pauls, the sustain... the unchambered les pauls sound amazing. Plus, take a look at this picture, its fucking sex in pixel form

Anyone know how to make your pinky stop locking up when ever you try to do a reach more than 1 fret?
Anyone know how to make your pinky stop locking up when ever you try to do a reach more than 1 fret?
Lift weights with it. Totally serious, I tied a 3 lb. dumbbell to my pinky and did a little 'workout' everyday for a few weeks.
Lift weights with it. Totally serious, I tied a 3 lb. dumbbell to my pinky and did a little 'workout' everyday for a few weeks.
I think it might just be my joints, both my hands are pretty screwed up, thanks for the input.
I wish I had a band. :saddowns:
I think it might just be my joints, both my hands are pretty screwed up, thanks for the input.
No excuses. Best way to get your pinky in shape is to use it a lot.
yeah play like 3-4-3-4 up and down all the strings [editline]01:51AM[/editline] pinky and ring finger that is the actual frets aren't as important
