I have the heaviest ones on it atm, and I mean low e, a onwards I've got the sixth, fifth, fourth and third or EADG if that's what you want
I didn't mean that. I meant what Epic Sandwich said.
A friend of mine wants to buy a Morgan LP-40 guitar pack. I just wanna know if its good for a beginner? and if its good enough for a musical education?
A friend of mine wants to buy a Morgan LP-40 guitar pack. I just wanna know if its good for a beginner? and if its good enough for a musical education?
Well, Google turned up jack shit for a Morgan LP-40. You sure you have the model right?
Leaving strings on for a couple days will not damage your guitar. It's a stupid rumour with little basing in fact
I destroyed one of my necks by leaving string off it while the trussrod had some heavy tension on it. Not a good idea.. If you take strings off, it's a good idea to leave the heavy E string on, maybe even tune it up a bit, or if you want the stress to be pretty even, leave the D and G on.
I really need to work on my picking. I find it really hard to play master of puppets cause my hand will randomly slow down or miss the string completely (this is all downstroking btw) Has anyone got any tips?
Can FacePunch recommend a relatively cheap (I have no money) distortion pedal?
Can FacePunch recommend a relatively cheap (I have no money) distortion pedal?
I'd say the Boss DE-2.
I was thinking about getting the boss metalcore (dumb name but hey) but thats like 70 pounds or so. I currently have a boss DS-1 which is about thirty pounds. Not bad for the price but I imagine you can do better
Well, Google turned up jack shit for a Morgan LP-40. You sure you have the model right?
yeah..i can message him and ask if hes sure..
Can FacePunch recommend a relatively cheap (I have no money) distortion pedal?
Boss HM-2 (They're like twenty bucks, but sound great) EHX Big Muff (Not technically a distortion pedal) ProCo Rat
I'd say the Boss DE-2.
Link? It doesn't show up anywhere. [editline]08:41PM[/editline]
Boss HM-2 (They're like twenty bucks, but sound great) EHX Big Muff (Not technically a distortion pedal) ProCo Rat
HM-2 is 90. I'll check out the others. Also, any opinions on the digitech RP55?

Slightly harder at first but it comes out smoother in the end.
When I play it I alternate up and down every note. But the point im trying to make is that im trying to improve my downstrokes, make them faster and more accurate. Is it just a matter of practice?

Like I told someone before, do it perfectly slow before you speed it up. And I think James is the one that downstrokes everything c:

Also, any opinions on the digitech RP55?
If it's $90, you're getting ripped off. Even though they're great pedals, for some odd reason they tend to sell for $10-40. Also, just so you know (in case you don't already), the HM-2 is discontinued, so you can't find it anywhere but used, so your best bet would be eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Boss-Heavy-Metal-HM-2-made-Japan-Good-Condition-/270599409959?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item3f00fb5127 http://cgi.ebay.com/1986-BOSS-HM-2-Heavy-Metal-Distortion-pedal-Japan-/180527446373?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item2a08463965 http://cgi.ebay.com/Boss-HM-2-Heavy-Metal-Distortion-/190411107751?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item2c5562eda7 http://cgi.ebay.com/Boss-HM-2-/250657223179?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item3a5c55b20b http://cgi.ebay.com/Boss-HM-2-Distortion-Guitar-Effect-Pedal-Box-/160450950872?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item255b9f36d8
Also, any opinions on the digitech RP55?
Don't get the 55, get a higher model in the series, it'll be a better investment and you'll get an expression pedal. I own the RP250 (an older version of the 255) and it's great. Here's my breakdown of three of the cheaper current models I'd recommend: RP55:

Smallest
Battery-Powered
Cheapest
Low number of effects
Low number of drum patterns
RP90:

$25 more than RP55
Expression Pedal
More effects than 55
More drum patterns than 55
RP255:

$75 more than RP55 ($50 more than RP90)
Expression Pedal
More effects than 90 and 55
More drum patterns than 90 and 55
USB interface (for preset editing and audio recording; this is actually really nice)
20sec looper
(Prices from Musician's Friend) There's my little buyer's guide for ya. I highly recommend the RP series but I can't tell you which one to get. I'd say the 255, but it may or may not be out of your price range, so that's up to you. Good luck
He was being serious. Also, try a can of compressed air?
Thanks! I never thought of that lol. And I have taken apart my floyd rose to clean it and shit. 2 times already. It took ages since i hate taking things apart.
What gauge strings do you use?
I'm not %100 sure they're not very heavy at all however [editline]05:44PM[/editline]
I destroyed one of my necks by leaving string off it while the trussrod had some heavy tension on it. It's been like that for a week or so. EADG is on atm
I just saved up for a Boss ME-70, totally worth the money.
Bought my first bass overdrive pedal off ebay :v:
I gave my old guitar to my bro, since i found this old guitar in my garage and fixed it up. Will get some picture's later.
I'm thinking of buying a Line6 Pod x3 Live, good idea? It seems good to me.
I wonder what it would be like to pick with one of these? :v: (The thing is nearly half an inch thick.)
Like picking using a large pebble.
Can pretty much play Blackbird now. I feel so accomplished.
I'm thinking of buying a Line6 Pod x3 Live, good idea? It seems good to me.
Get a normal POD X3 then you get an awesome USB 2.0 recording interface and no shitty pedal that only wah fags need :v
I'm thinking of buying a Line6 Pod x3 Live, good idea? It seems good to me.
Seems like an overkill to the extreme. But I don't know.. maybe you play live shows every week and really need to be able to switch to 6-8 different sounds on the run. :v:
and no shitty pedal that only wah fags need :v
Oh, fuck, that reminds me, I need an expression pedal.
Some guy offered me this for my Jackson SL2H I said no.
I am now mad at you. argh
Should I have said yes? I can still tell him I want it, probably. I just don't really want it. It's really nice, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for. [editline]08:46PM[/editline] Oh my lord, just got another email offering me this except with a hardtail. Tempting... veeerry tempting. Actually it's slightly different, it's a Gothic II, so it's like that one, except it's matte black and there's no fret inlays. I see not much reason to decline, it seems to be a fucking awesome guitar.
