If I had a choice between a Gibson and a Ran, I'd punch the guy offering me the Gibson. Ran will floor it in quality terms, they're a custom shop, so nothing made by Gibson ASIDE from their Custom Shop stuff will match up. Trust me
I've been thinking about getting an Ibanez for awhile, I've heard good things about this particular one, so now I'm just waiting for an opportunity to go try it out at Guitar Center sometime soon. Guys, leaving for America on Sunday, where I'll be attending a summer school. One of the subjects I've chosen is 'Jazz Improvisation'. I was told the only requirements would be that I could play major scales in most keys, which I can. Any idea what it'll be like?
Thats not how kirk plays it :p but yeah thats what my friends do too. But the point im trying to make is that im trying to improve my downstrokes, make them faster and more accurate. Is it just a matter of practice?
Just don't practice, practice slow and with a metronome and make the tempo faster when you've mastered it. Also, Kirk will usually stray away from down picking during his solos.
Oh, fuck, that reminds me, I need an expression pedal.
Real men use volume knobs
Oh, fuck, that reminds me, I need an expression pedal.
I need one for my delay pedal, as well as a power supply. and probably a Bass Muff to replace my Big Muff Pi, which I can sell/use for guitar

Any idea what it'll be like?
If you are playing on guitar, you should be able to play the major scale in any key quite easily. That's what I really like about the guitar. Also, it makes me think more in intervals more than notes, which I see as a positive aspect, because notes are meaningless. The fact that the pitch is A tells me nothing, but if I heard that it is a minor third, I know a whole lot more, for instance, that the root key is F#.
Forgive my illiteracy, but whats the kind of pedal that loops your playing so you can do solos and such on top of it? I don't wanna look stupid going into guitar center tomorrow.
Looper pedal. though some delays have a function for that, but not as extensive as a dedicated loop station
Looper pedal. though some delays have a function for that, but not as extensive as a dedicated loop station
Thanks.
Real men use volume knobs
Truthfully I could do it all with automation in FL Studio if I felt like it... But I don't. Those this also raises the question of how you use a pedal to control the wah on a Pod X3 Pro. Presumably it takes midi controllers, but it doesn't say that anywhere on Line 6's site. And there is no way in hell I'm rigging up automation to a midi out on my interface to a midi in on the rackmount before it goes back to the interface.
Someone recommend me a mellow, easy chill out song for the guitar.
Some guy offered me this for my Jackson SL2H [IMG_thumb]http://i45.tinypic.com/2dadr9l.jpg[/IMG_thumb] I said no.
hooooly shit dude that's a RAN.
Someone recommend me a mellow, easy chill out song for the guitar.
Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd.
Can someone please tell me what makes RAN's so special?
They're a very nice custom shop. Great quality guitars. Very expensive though.

Okay I got some more pics from both guys of the Gibson and the RAN, and the Gibson is actually very old and worn looking, basically the whole back of the neck's paint is worn off. The RAN However still looks very nice, so I'm going to get that.

That RAN looks fucking gorgeous. Also guys, looking to get a seven string, got about 170ish quid so I'm checking gum tree, and I have found a Washburn 7 and a Schecter demon 7, but If I somehow managed to get together 400 quid I could become the proud owner of an ibby RG1572 Prestige Opinions?
