I'm trying to work out what scale this song uses, here are all the notes used:
e - 5, 7, 9
B - 5, 7, 8, 10
G - 4, 6, 7
D - 4, 5, 7
A - 4, 5, 7
E - 3, 4, 5

Translate those to actual note names (G,G#,A), then just look for scales that use all those notes.
I ordered this from the gibson website yesterday, I can't wait till it gets here. It cost a lot but it is awesome
sup guys it's lettuce_head, I'm just gonna use this account for a while.
Anyways, I'm gonna continue to try and sell my Jackson, then I will buy a ESP Horizon, and put EMGs in it, that's the plan, and that's hopefully what I will stick to. And before you say I had a horizon before, that one was rusty and awful.

wow
I didn't see that one... rate me all the boxes you can
Well, my guitar teacher taught me the solo for Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. I'll perfect it before I show it to you guys.
You need to learn the Guitar Solo for American Woman...
Good stuff.
Question: I have a Roland Cube 20x with a Recording out/ Headphones jack which is 1/4". I have a 1/4" to 3.5mm jack thing. Can I plug that in to my computers microphone port and record or do I have to buy something special to record to my computer. I saw the Line 6 pod thing, I just don't want to shell out money if I don't have to.

I don't see why it wouldn't work.

It should work.
I've done the same, only directly from my bass to computer
I've done it before, it works.
Though make sure you have a mono one and not a stereo one, or it will be hard to get out.
Out of curiosity, who here has the fret board memorized?
What do you mean?
Do you mean that you remember where do certain notes come from on the fretboard?
If you do, then yes, to some degree.
Out of curiosity, who here has the fret board memorized?
If I need to know a note I just figure it out there and then. Probably should get around to learning the 5th fret notes
I can't tell which note is C or which is A, but if I hear a note or a chord, I can find it pretty fast from the fretboard.
It should work.

That can't be healthy for the pc.
I think

Telling notes just through sound is fucking difficult unless you have a good ear.

It would be better to put it in a line-in socket if your sound card has one, but microphone should do fine if you don't.
I have exactly this problem! I just want to play melodic progressive groove metal :saddowns:
That's exactly what my band play. It's awesome.
This is great

It isn't.
Basses have a higher output than any mic has.
Telling notes just through sound is fucking difficult unless you have a good ear.
Not that hard, as long as it isn't too high or too low.
That can't be healthy for the pc.

Probably not, but this was years ago on a computer that's been long dead by now.
I'd definitely use an amp or interface in the future

Yeah, plus this was an active bass so alot worse
A new robot guitar? Cool. The Dusk Tiger was fugly.
What kind of strings should I get for Drop B tuning?
It isn't.

If it is going through the headphone/record port it will be fine because then it is only going to output voltages that headphones expect. But doing it through just a random output port would likely have bad results.
If you want to play it safe, then plug it in but have the volume down as low as it can be. Open up audacity or whatever and start recording. Play a note and then up the volume, and do so more and more until the wave is a decent size but not anywhere close to clipping.

Oh fantastic another gimmick that no one really needs.
Have they even sold enough of these to break even at all? or is it so over priced thanks to the Gibson name that one sale is chalked up as a profit and a win?
Oh fantastic another gimmick that no one really needs.
I'll have you know that there are plenty of tone-deaf guitarists who would appreciate not having to lug around a whole half ounce tuner in their pocket.
This "gimmick" is going to revolutionize music, let me tell you.
