...dude tuners are light as fuck and if you get the ones that pick up the vibrations then it's even better.
And i'm sorry I refuse to believe a self tuning guitar that must be a bitch to string and must weigh a fair bit and probably has some nasty neck dive, is gonna revolutionise music.
Or fuck me I've just been trolled haven't I?
I'll have you know that there are plenty of tone-deaf guitarists who would appreciate not having to lug around a whole half ounce tuner in their pocket.
This "gimmick" is going to revolutionize music, let me tell you.
It's nothing new though

You can shift tunings with a touch of a button, which I think is pretty awesome.
Or fuck me I've just been trolled haven't I?
I was being sarcastic. I agree with you, it's moronic.
Though I think it has applications as something to give sludge metal types, as it would instantly make their music slightly more tolerable. Throw on some autotune and a loud fucking metronome, and they might actually be able to play a 4/4 major scale.
Oh god I just listened through some of my ooooooooold bob marley records, big nostalgia chock
Last time I listened to this was like 8 years ago
What kind of strings should I get for Drop B tuning?
I use 0.12s and they work pretty well. May I ask what you're planning to play?
I just got 0.12s to play low tunings, I play in C# standard and drop B (basically the same thing) most of the time nowadays. 0.12s sound so beefy and full in comparison to my old strings, I always used to play with 0.09s for some reason.
Also if I was a rich fuck I would buy a gibson robot guitar, mostly as a gimmick, a little fun experiment, not a serious guitar, but I would still buy one, if I were rich.
Telling notes just through sound is fucking difficult unless you have a good ear.
Not really.
I mostly learn songs by ear.
Jackson RR3 + Hard case + Setup for $450. Its hidden in the back of guitar center right now.. Putting it on layaway on Saturday.
What kind of strings should I get for Drop B tuning?
.12's or .13's. Might even want to consider a thin bass string as the low B if you're playing that low all the time.
If you plan on changing anywhere near D or E standard, get .11's so you can stay in tune decently well at drop-B but not kill yourself (or your guitar) playing in D or E.
I have .10 - .62 on my main seven.
Need to get better strings for my Parker at some point.
Probably getting .11 - .52's.

Yeah, but then you mostly sit with your guitar and try to match what you hear with what you play, right?
I can actually do good guesses, based on how the play. Songs often go in the key of A, E or C, and often uses the asme set of intervals.
But I don't think that counts

Bass strings sound different than guitar strings, not recommended.

Simply put, yes.
I have managed to figure out quite complicated songs by ear pretty easily, accurately and fast.
Like these three songs.

I don't mean to brag, because anyone with some musical ear can pull it off pretty well.
Yeah doesn't sound THAT hard to do
Guess we're both pretty talented

We're just persistent. We try to work things out for ourselves instead of giving up immediately. People are just too lazy. :S
Heck, if one can't transcribe something like the songs posted above, I don't think one has the right to say they can play guitar.
Only thing that is somewhat still hard for me is figuring out dissonant(word?) chords.
Those drive me nuts sometimes.
Yeah chords can be hard as fuck to figure out
I get bored playing others songs anyway, I mostly write my own stuff

I have wrote my own stuff too, but only finished one song. I think I have posted it here or to the other threads, but I can post it again, if someone wants.
I have some good ideas for songs and have some good sounding prototypes on my computer. Never really had time to finish them. Gotta look into them again at some point.

Why, and how much?
Guys, is there software to to mute different tracks on a song so you can play the guitar part in that song?

Nope.
Nope.
LAME!
Why isn't such software invented?
I mean, they can put the tracks together, but they can't decompile it?

Maybe if the guitar tracks is on the left channel and whatever else is on the right channel, then you could find software to mute one channel. Although almost no songs have the instruments set up with the L & R channels like that.

Because they compress and render all the tracks into one single track (or two, stereo) before releasing it to the public. This is to save space and to make sure everything is kept consistent. Once that's done you can't separate the tracks again. It's like trying to separate all the ingredients of a bowl of soup.
