It's pretty cool! :v:
:what:
well i have finally decided on the guitar and amp i am going to buy soon. the guitar will be this http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/39432-fender-standard-stratocaster-brown-sunburst-rosewood.html paired up with this amp, the Vox AC15VR £660 overall, will also add a seymour duncan hot rail to the bridge at a later date.
so what do you guys think of the amp then?
so what do you guys think of the amp then?
I heard someone playing it while I was in a guitar shop, sounded real crisp!
@ the dean bass: If the fingerboard wasn't green but natural it would be kind of cool, But they could've picked a better colour. Right now it looks like plastic.
so what do you guys think of the amp then?
It's a good amp. My brother has one of those.
I'd like some suggestions for pickups I could put in my SG at some point. I like my guitar as a whole, but I need some pickups with a little extra oomph. I was thinking about seymour duncan blackouts possibly, I'd like something that can cover Hardcore, Post Hardcore, Metalcore kind of sounds and still be pretty decent for classic rock kinda stuff like AC/DC and Led Zep. Moar gain, is better. I would like to keep the crome cover over the pickups, as I think if I had black humbuckers sticking outta my sg, it would look ugly. Suggestioins
EMG 81/60 setup, or DiMarzio X2n/D-Activator. Or Bareknuckles if you feel like murdering your eardrums with gain.
OK guys, I love the tone of the SG, but absolutely detest the way it looks. Any solutions?
OK guys, I love the tone of the SG, but absolutely detest the way it looks. Any solutions?
But its bootiful :saddowns:
OK guys, I love the tone of the SG, but absolutely detest the way it looks. Any solutions?
Buy one anyway and learn to love it Not very hard considering it's the best looking shape out there
go blind? there are much better looking guitars than an SG
Buy one anyway and learn to love it Not very hard considering it's the best looking shape out there
But those silly pointy horns!
But those silly pointy horns!
make one yourself and change the shape as you see fit
But those silly pointy horns!
...Are so fucking cool!
Buy a Les Paul, Compromise.

Suggestioins
Try Bare Knuckle Painkillers or Cold Sweats. I have higher output models in my PRS and I was playing funk on it a couple weeks ago. All BKPs are just insanely versatile. I have Blackouts in my Schecter and cannot take to them at all. Horrible clean sound and too sensitive with gain. Not a fan of actives generally really. I'd recommend passives over them any day, particularly with an SS amp Also, finally got a picture of the whole family
So I got my Jemini pedal back from the shop, and well, it's AWESOME. I play an Epiphone Les Paul through a large tube amp, meaning the sound I have is very thick and heavy. Now, with added Ibanez brand distortion sweetness, it adds the anger and bite my sound previously lacked. So now I pretty much have a perfect metal sound, with no metal-oriented gear. (Take that, people with expensive ESPs)
My local guitar shop have started stocking Schecters, they have some pretty damn sexy ones. They also have one of those limited edition 7 string Gibson explorers with the EMGs. It's only £1200 as well. When it was released they expected them to go quick and said it would cost £3000. Anyway I put 012 gauge strings on my guitar, pretty damn sexy sounding.

this was the guitar I found most sexy today

The main gripe I have with the 7 string Explorers is the retarded scale length they use for them so you'll have a low B that's like playing spaghetti :saddowns: that's the main thing I hate about my 7 string too, crap tension on the low B, but that's due to the piss poor licensed Floyd which I can't tune up with anything resembling a hefty string [editline]11:14PM[/editline]
That Agile 8 string is a beast!
:respek:
828 or 830?
828, got an .80 on the F# so I don't worry myself about the tension. The pickup is a bit on the feeble side though, might rip it out for a Bare Knuckle at some point. It's a lovely guitar though, especially for the price I paid for it :smug:
Ok, this is going to sound really stupid, but when it comes to measuring a Bass guitar how long is it when its 3/4?
According to this link http://www.tunemybass.com/bass_guitar_buying_guide/bass_scale.html Medium is 30-33" for a normal bass guitar. The median of those is 31.5". 31.5 * .75 = 23.625 If a scale length is 3/4, just find the original scale length and multiply by .75.
What should my amp settings be if I need to have a Snow (Hey oh) tone? I have a jackson sl3 soloist, and my school has a 100 watt marshall solid state amp.

I'm looking for a 7 string. Any suggestions? current options are Agile 725 or Schecter Hellraiser C-7. Price range needs to be under about $1000 AUS

I heard they have a licenced FL installed and those pretty much are shit when it comes to keeping tune. What do you people think of this?
