That ES-355 doesn't have the varitone switch that's on the ES-345, the split parallelogram inlays or the stereo output. It is very similar, though. http://www.thomann.de/gb/gibson_es_345_trd.htm That's the right model, but a Bigsby was added to the one in the film after it was originally made (you can see the holes for the removed stopbar tailpiece).
So is it some kind of Frankenstein guitar made for the movie? -snip- Edit: NM, so the bigsby is a whammy in effect?
I'd be happy with this one V http://www.thomann.de/gb/epiphone_the_dot_ch.htm :P
I have this: http://www.thomann.de/gb/ibanez_as73bs_semiakustik_egitarre.htm God I love ES-355 styled guitars.
So is it some kind of Frankenstein guitar made for the movie? -snip- Edit: NM, so the bigsby is a whammy in effect?
Yeah, I think it was the first patented vibrato unit. They're used more for adding subtle vibrato though, rather than divebombs and stuff.
Yeah, I think it was the first patented vibrato unit. Pretty cool guitar all in all though, i'm thinking of buying a Epi dot soon because it looks awesome, i'd love to have that style, since i can't afford a £500 guitar atm, a £200 similar style would make me pretty happy.
The Epi Dot is a great guitar, you won't be disappointed if you go for one.

I really hope my job comes through, first paycheck will be spent on the Epi Dot, i really, really want a goddam job, fucking economy.
What do you guys think about it?
I'm not a big fan of PRS's pickups, but I can't really knock 'em, and it looks good otherwise.
Why are you guys trying to justify my shit getting stolen?
"Justifying" your shit getting stolen would be saying "lol, those guys were totally in the right for robbing you." I'm saying you contributed to your shit getting stolen by putting it somewhere easily broken into. You left something valuable in a structure that's not particularly secure, as you're now aware. Put your shit inside the house next time, even if that means you sleep with it. And don't give me the "stairs" excuse. When I was your age, we hauled our gear five stories in a blizzard uphill both ways with no shoes every morning at 3:00 AM. Completely unrelated, after suddenly disliking what Carvin had to offer and not feeling in the mood to buy an Ibby or ESP that still doesn't really have what I want, I think I'm ordering the Agile this week. http://www.rondomusic.com/product2932.html Too bad they don't make a 30" in black (or anything that's not bright red or queasy green), but meh.

Garages are so easy to break into, all you have to do is hammer the handle off and your in. Its a pretty common type of burglary, infact i'd guess garages are hit more often than any other places around an estate or in a group of houses. Most of them arent alarmed and people keep bikes and bigger items out there so it's easy pickings. Keep your musical shit inside. I keep my Jackson in my room in it's flight case, locked; more in fear of my dog getting at it, but just incase i know if it gets stolen they'd have to shear the locks off it to get in; hopefully making it easier to spot down as a Jackson and case both damaged by saws or powertools. So want a Dot right now.
HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO MOVE A 160 LBS AMP RIG UP AND DOWN 2 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS jesus christ you guys are retarded. and xenocide that stupid barefoot blizzard shit isn't funny. infact, all memes aren't funny
HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO MOVE A 160 LBS AMP RIG UP AND DOWN 2 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS
Are your arms and legs broken? Do you have no friends? Even if you're completely incapable of getting it out of your garage, it's still your fault for leaving it in the garage. Maybe you shouldn't buy something too huge for you to stow away, tiger.
jesus christ you guys are retarded. and xenocide that stupid barefoot blizzard shit isn't funny. infact, all memes aren't funny
Lighten. The. Fuck. Up. I know you don't want to take partial responsibility for your stuff getting stolen, but sooner or later you have to face reality. Preferably in a light mood. It's not like we're saying "heyo, way to fuck up and get your shit snatched, buddy!", just, you know, keep it somewhere safe next time.
this guy was meant to be some sort of muscular person too [editline]11:56PM[/editline] mr jits I mean
i am very muscular, but damien, i think you should try hauling a 160 lbs rig up stairs. and i just got a call from the windsor police department, apparently i can pick up my bass at the station tomorrow. really happy.
Woah guys chill the fuck out yeah. Xenocide, I have to admit your statements do look a bit like you're attacking SickJits or blunt to say the least, but really Sick you have no excuse. Really if you are as muscular as you say you should be able to move a 160 lbs rig up stairs on your own, let alone if you have friends. I worked that out to be 72 kilos. I have to go up and down stairs with 55-60 kilos of dough a day at work so you honestly have no excuse or reason to snap at Xeno.
I dunno, I'd be upset too if I had valuable shit of mine stolen. Hell, I was pissed when I had $40 and 2 grams of weed taken from me when some goons robbed me last fall

72 kilos is roughly the weight of the average person are you saying you can't carry the weight of an average person
72 kilos is roughly the weight of the average person are you saying you can't carry the weight of an average person
I bet no one wants to get piggy back rides from him. :(
Just played my bass overdrive pedal :v: Sounds fucking awesome
ON THE NOTE OF POSTING GUITARS! This is me again posting my guitar, my duct tape Ibanez. The model is now unknown...
You guys make it sound like it was his fault for getting his things stolen. It was not, the garage should be a safe place to put things but sometimes bad things happen, are you going to live scared because some bad thing happened? Are you going to move your car into your bedroom in case someone decides to rob you? You can get robbed by going to the mall.. He could try to get extra protection on the garage, an alarm or so, but the idea of moving everything to the rooms is at least ridiculous, why have a garage then?
I really like the look of the Epiphone Dot, but i like the Gibson es355 inlays, (rectangles) and wish i could combine the two for the same price, and a bigsby aswell. Any ideas? Are there any epi 335 styles with bigsbys and bigger inlays or would it be a gibson 355, casino or bust? Edit: PAH! Closest i can get is a Epiphone Casino Limited Edition with the Bigsby, but they only do it in Vintage Sunburst, and i'd only really want Cherry red. How hard would it be to get a bigsby fitted to an Epi dot? Casino fyi : http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=epiphone+casino+bigsby&hl=en&aq=f
Are there any epi 335 styles with bigsbys and bigger inlays or would it be a gibson 355, casino or bust?
It's not your color or brand preference, but there's this: http://www.rondomusic.com/coolcatbkbigsby.html I can't find a Gretsch with what you're looking for anywhere. I suppose there's this ibby, if you don't mind the fact that it doesn't have a real bigsby, and the inlays are ugly as fuck. http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ibanez-Artcore-AFS75T-Electric-Guitar?sku=519452 Speaking of ugly as fuck, while I was looking that up, I puked. ESPs normally don't look bad. Hell, Vipers look pretty sweet despite basically being SGs as seen by a drunk guy. So what the flying fuck happened here?

Yeah i think i'd be very worried taking a power tool to something like a guitar, i know it seems easy from the video but i don't trust myself to get it right. Suppose i'll just stick with getting an Epi Dot, cherry red, then seeing if a Luthier/guitar shop can fit my a bigsby for a not extorionate amount of money. Shame about the inlays, i like the 355 body but i want the Gibson inlays and a bigsby. I essentially want the frankenstein guitar me and dirty harry talked about last page from Back to the Future, but with an Epiphone instead of a Gibson as the base. Essentially i want a cheap Gibson Es345 with a Bigsby, in cherry red. All i have to do is rob some banks. :smith: Or find a guitar that ticks all those boxes and is an Epi or just cheap for some reason.
This carvin semi hollow is so sexy

What? I like it.
Well, to each their own. Also, WOOHOO! Ordered the Agile Interceptor, should be here sooner or later. Yay for Fedex and all that. I'm really hoping the manufacturing is as good as people make it out to be. Could save a lot of money buying an LP knockoff after this. And if it's terrible, I send it back, go back to being a brand elitist, buy a Carvin or ESP or Ibby or who cares what, and I'm out nothing. Win/win.
So i got my new guitar today and its my first floyd rose and i have it tuned and everything but i'm getting a buzz on my first fret. How do i fix this.
