I just left my guitar teacher of 5 years. :frown: I'm actually kind of sad about it.
I visited my local guitar shop today and borrowed a Boss GT-10. Anyone who can tell the difference between it and a Line 6 Pod x3 Live? (I haven't tried the Pod). :v:
Nah screw that I like guitar more
How about a keytar? unlimited potential of badassery
Let him play classical guitar damnit. :v: [editline]05:23PM[/editline] En-Guage V2, check this out: Spanish Romance (you don't have to play it this fast) It's very easy! And it's great for getting your finger technique up and running. Tab: http://www.guitarmasta.net/m/misc_traditional/281276.html
The more I get into reading from notes, the more I hate tabs :saddowns:
Here's a quick lookout on a song I'm working on ATM. No fancy mixing effects or anything yet, because I started just now and it's nowhere near finishing. Just guitar and drums this time around. http://www.mediafire.com/?8ugq8dgu62yuzzt re-doing the part that starts 'bout 35 secs in. Criticism will be taken.
Also, I'm going to see Status Quo tomorrow. :v:
Also, I'm going to see Status Quo tomorrow. :v:
Saw them in January. They kicked massive ass, and were being supported by another band that was pretty awesome too, they even gave and signed an EP for me.
clearly not as much as you to leave expensive shit in my garage and be suprised when it goes missing then again I don’t have gear like you obviously, but you honestly can’t say that you’re surprised it was stolen, or surprised that in a garage wasn’t a good place to put that kind of gear. I don’t live in a bad town, even if I had gear quite like you I doubt that I would leave it outside, even undercover for a variety of reasons. and I saw you complaining that you had to carry it up stairs, you’ve been boasting you’re so strong and whatever for various threads, surely a tough guy like you can handle that also much as I dislike you, you have my sympathy. that really does suck. I hope you get your gear back somehow. you still shouldn’t have put all your expensive stuff in such a dumb place though :) You play nylon don't you?
i don't live in a bad town, which is why i figured it was ok to leave my shit in the garage
How about a keytar? unlimited potential of badassery
Urgh, I hate the keytar lol
Let him play classical guitar damnit. :v: En-Guage V2, check this out: Spanish Romance (you don't have to play it this fast) It's very easy!
I hate thumb-picks.
I bought one and a couple of them finger hook dealies the other day, not entirely sure why. They're kinda shitty to use, the thumb one never wants to stay in one place for more than a minute and the hooks seem like they muddy shit up more than my giant fingertips.
Too bad that guitar doesn't have a OFR bridge, just a knock-off. Have fun tuning it.
Too early to say right now without having put it through any heavy use, but actually having the guitar in hand, I'm not worried at all about LFR, but I'm very worried about the terrible fucking tuners. Everything else about the instrument is solid, but damn are those tuners wretched.
this is me playing little wing by jimi hendrix im gonna be playing that along with some complex scales and other short improvised pieces on the 28th for my music audution into HNC Music for college after the summer can any other guitarists comment on it? I've been playing for 7 years now so I'm not being nooby, i just want some opinions :) it was on one of them cheap 'starter strats' you get when you're 13 and think you're eddie van halen but this little guitar actually sounds beefy on the right amp and some of the sounds I get from it are amazing, this isn't a particularly good example but it does get that nice underwater sound jimi has from time to time. edit: sorry if this is the wrong place too but i guess this thread has the highest concentration of guitarists around so yeah.
Status Quo were awesome. :v:
Trying to learn fade to black by MetallicA, any hints?
Trying to learn fade to black by MetallicA, any hints?
What part are you learning/what part are you stuck on?
What part are you learning/what part are you stuck on?
Yeah, that would be helpful. The intro solo really isn't that hard, the rhythm is pretty easy, but the outsolo is a bitch.
verse really. just cant get my timing right.
verse really. just cant get my timing right.
Are you using guitar pro?
Use a metronome. The song is at 116 BPM according to some site and the whole part is just quarter notes which will be really easy to practice. Just use the metronome at a comfortable speed and play two notes evenly spaced every click. As you get good with that, up the tempo, and repeat until you get it perfect. When playing the song just follow with the guitar, or even better, use the drums as your metronome. If you are talking about the acoustic part you'll want to practice it slow until it sounds right.
Yeah my timing is shit too, my teacher told me to work on it this week [editline]04:38PM[/editline] Rate me rainbows everyone

I've been playing for 9 years and I've just been asked to learn Bold as Love and it's a lot harder to play like Hendrix than it sounds. I'm a classical/metal guitarist so I can really appreciate the difficulty of covering a Hendrix song and getting to flow right. I know I'm struggling for now, It's probably a good course of action first to learn to play like Hendrix, then read the chords and play the song in your own Hendrix-esque interpretation. Tone is not bad either but you can hear the cheapness of the pickups shining through. Just sounds a bit too brittle and lacking the warmth the song deserves.

So I'm gona fix up my broken Acoustic. I know how to replace the bridge pegs and the strings, but The nut is missing. also I think I need to replace a Tuning peg. I really want to do It myself, or would I give to a shop to repair?
I'm thinking about getting an IbanezTBX150H, Is it worth getting?
My step dad bought me a new acoustic :) I'll post pics tomorrow.
Getting some new strings today, i play metal rythmn, and i play on a Jackson Dinky with Floyd Rose, would 10's be cool? My guitar teacher said 10's would be ok for me? Any suggestions? No hybrids. Just take it slow, Hetfield's ryhtms ballads are a little difficult because he likes to spice up all the chords with picking and sliding and such so just keep practising and it will come easily.

I'm assuming you're using 9s at the moment, so you will have to tighten the screws holding the spring claw or add a spring to keep the bridge at the right angle. Setting up and tuning a FR guitar with different strings can be a bitch the first time, but with patience you'll get good at it.
Playing from the album can be tough because they do a lot more in the album than you think. For example, the solo in Money. When I played it with the song I was getting a bit confused because the in certain parts the guitar seemed to be doing different things. But eventually I realized that it was being triple tracked and that in a few spots the guitar comes early and stuff, which does sound pretty cool, but is confusing when you're trying to figure out the timing.

I bought some D'Addario XL Nickel Wound Regular Light Gauge .10 0.13 0.17 0.26 0.36 0.46 EXL 110's, hope they're suitable? Having measured my other strings, the low E doesn't look too much fatter, i might have factory 10's already, not sure. I'm always for more heavy strings anyway, i like METALLLLL.
Evenin' all, this is probably a pretty stupid question but can anyone here help me identify this guitar? My stepdad let me have it as my starter guitar a few weeks ago but he has no idea what guitar it is as he brought it ages ago (he thinks around 15 years ago) so it's probably ancient. Any information on it would be useful :D Thanks.
