What do you guys think.
(dont minde the launguage)
Eh, I really don't like les paul-alikes that don't have the small plastic circle around the main pickup selector (with Rhythm / Treble on it). Without it, it just looks a bit bare.
My guitar teacher won't be teaching me anymore he's stopping lessons on saturday
I'm going to have to get a new teacher, just as I got comftable with the old one.
fuck

I was wondering.
in november i bougth a guitar that had 009 - 42 strings on it. i had it retured and fixed for 011 strings. Is it okay for me to put on some 010-46 strings on? the guy said he had to calibrate it the first time when i returned it.
Guys, I need some help. I have this here tab that appears to be really easy to play, I've got the fingerpicking down, but I'm having trouble getting my fingers to fit the first chord properly. It looks like this:
e:0
B:1
G:0
D:3
A:0
E:1
How do I get my fingers in those two spaces on the first fret, with another on the third, without barring anything? Am I gonna have to use my thumb (I hate that.)

I would play it middle finger on the B, index finger on the E, and pinky on the D. It might be a bit of a stretch at first.
I managed this:
e:
B: M
G:
D: P
A:
E: I
(Index, pinky and middle) but there might be a better way to do it.
e:
B: I
G:
D: P
A:
E: M
Seems easier to me.
Can finally play fade to black verse easily. Im so confident I can sing while playing. :v:

It will need to be set up for the change in tension.

Don't have to use your thumb, the best ways to play it would be middle/index on B string, pinky on D and index/middle on E. Make sure your middle finger doesn't slide down to the second fret.
What's the point in 18v pickups? More gain?
Headroom. Playing 'em 9v they sound really, really artificial, way too much compression. Cleans sound like a sampler more than a guitar. Stick in a second battery and roll back the volume pot, and it sounds a bit more "organic" and you get your ability to use dynamic contrast back. It's pretty much just a quick way of getting them to sound less compressed without swapping them for the X series or passives. Though the difference isn't that massive, I'm still wanting to see something that comes with X pups stock to test 'em, and then either replace them with those or some passives.
I'd show you a sample between my 707s, but my audio interface just developed a really ugly buzzing and is completely unusable. Speaking of which...Presonus. The Firebox seemed like such a deal last year, and I don't know how I lucked out and got a model that stayed silent as long as it did, but after having it hiss up on me and finding out that happened to most folks...fuck 'em. Ignore the fact that they're always on sale for 50% off and get a MOTU or TCE or Focusrite or Lexicon or Roland or any other non-shit brand.
I mean, my old M-Audio USB held up better than this. That's embarassing.

:ohdear: Umm, what if i set the same strings on? since it costs me almost 90 bucks to get a change in tension. but i am switching to a lower tension. If its set up for a 011 strings why should it affect it in any way? besides maybe the strings are too high above the fretboard?(does it have anything to to with the gauge of strings) also excuse my iliteracy:(
I usually sweep pick with my Index, Middle, and ring fingers and that isn't really a good thing because I barely use my pinky. Now whenever I use my pinky it feels like another world for me because my pinky is weak as hell. What can I do about this?
:D my favorite guitar ive ever bought

Isn't the answer obvious? Practice using your pinky. I've been working on pinky independence since I've been playing and I'd say I have a good amount of control over it and it isn't awkward to use at all. Do you do exercises at all that involve the pinky?

If you learn how to set up your own guitar, it will cost nothing! :v:
Putting the same strings on won't require any adjustments, please tell me you can restring your own guitar...
Switching to a lower gauge of string will cause the neck to become too straight and will cause the strings to go lower, or if you have a floating bridge it will probably bottom out leaving your strings really low and you won't be able to raise pitch with the trem.
I'm trying to understand modes, because I feel like that will help me immensely in my quest to learn to improvise. Can someone explain to me how these work? Use the C scale as a reference, please, that's the only one I know at this point. :v:
Play the C major scale from C to C. You can probably recognize the major scale pretty easy. Now we can also call this the ionian mode. Now instead of starting on the C, start on the A and play the C major scale from A to A (A B C D E F G A). What does that sounds like? You should recognize it. Try doing the same with other notes.
You're going to confuse yourself so much.

I think it looks pretty sweet, considering it's a cheap guitar.

The trussrod will need to be loosened slightly.
