chapman sticks are fucking crazy
I just call them fretboards with strings, but they're so cool
If you wanna sound like Cannibal Corpse I'd get a Boss MetalZone and run a Boss NS-2 or something after it because you'll get a lot of background hum with that much distortion. Although really, the sound is mainly based on what amp you're running. I would just save up some money and get a Mesa Boogie or something.
Also, you might want to get a guitar more suited to that type of music. I used to have that guitar and found that no matter what I did with it the pickups always gave me a muddy sound and it was hard to keep well intonated.
The Boss MetalZone is probably the worst pedal they've ever made. If you want a Boss distortion pedal that is actually meant to sound like a can of angry bees then go used and get an HM-2. However, for CC I would agree that you're probably not going to get a particularly good tone with your guitar, so maybe save up for something like Amplitube or Guitar Rig
This lucky bastard just got a hold of a '60 Gibson Eb0

I dislike gibsons bass models. Apart from thunderbirds.

If you're being serious I love you.
I thought I was the only person who actually liked them.
But I'm also a prog nut, so I like lots of odd shit like this.
My dad bought me a VOX v845 wah pedal for my birthday :3:
Sounds cool maaan, but now i gotta get used to wah-ing. Any songs I could learn to get me accustomed to it?
Any songs I could learn to get me accustomed to it?
Almost any kind of Hendrix.
Well tomorrow I'm going to the music store to see how my bass is coming along. The guy who was going to do it wasn't in when I left it and I don't know if my pickups had arrived, but I think they had. Hopefully get it back tomorrow and pick up a tuner and some polish and stuff for it too.
Ok, I have the opportunity to get a VOX VBM1 for 69 American dollars. Is that a good price/amp?
retoast
Never heard of the VBM1, can't help ya

Hendrix, Metallica, Slash...lots of rock and metal has wah in it, really. But those three will give you more wah than you'll know what to do with.
Hammett's leg is welded to a bloody wah
Thats true, I think Ill learn the enter sandman solo, full of wah
Anyone know some good pickups for some really heavy stuff? I want to upgrade my Ibanez RG120. I picked it up again and I realized it's way better for metal and heavy stuff than my Les Paul.

EMG's, some Seymour Duncans (don't remember the exact models that some of my favorites use, but John Petrucci and Mark Morton use them), and the DiMarzio X2n.

What is wrong with you, thunderbirds are the worst.

HOW CAN YOU RESIST THAT SOUND?

My next pickup purchase will be the DiMarzio Crunchlab, they just have a really nice all round sound to my ears. Not thin and sterile, but they definitely have this nice crunch which adds a percussive element but keeps the notes clearly defined.
Here's one in a 7 string Ibanez to give you an idea of what they can sound like:

Just keep in mind the amp is crucial to your tone, and I would make sure you have a good amp before you bother with replacing pickups.
It's definitely worth checking out Bareknuckle pickups, SD, and other DiMarzios, as it's all down to what you like.
Currently play a Fender Telecaster with a Vox VT30. Own a Epiphone Les Paul too.
Going to buy a Squier P Bass very soon and then after that I'm planning on getting this
It's taken 6 years to get all this but I'm happy.

I just hate the look of them.
Me too, they're ugly as fuck
But they sound aaawesoooome
I don't really care, plus I'm not really into to classic rock guitars like thunderbirds anyway
despite the fact I own an SG, irony indeed
Is there a cheap practice amp that sounds good at high volumes? My Micro Cube gets a bit muddy as it gets louder, and that's supposedly a common complaint.
Roland 15x?
It's what I got, sounds pretty good to me
Got it for 200 bucks australian

They used the same body as an SG, so it neck dives like crazy.
The fact that they got only one pick up and that it's stuffed against the neck doesn't really help out with the balancing PLUS you get a muddy tone no matter what.
I just bought flatwound strings for my bass. I can't even describe how I fucking love it. Also, I forgot to post a picture of my amp when I posted a picture of my bass twenty some pages ago, So... It's a Peavey TNT 100 150 watt bass amp. It's like thunder in a bullet proof box. It's an inch below my belt and I'm 6,2. If I turn it past 4 my windows rattle. It's pretty old; amp wise, I got it for free in one of those "If you move it, you can have it" situations when I helped my old English teacher move. It will probably cranking out music longer than me.
Getting my bass amp back today, the input thing somehow got broken, and the guys at the shop have fixed it up. Pretty fast too. :buddy:
The input thing on my guitar was loose, I asked my dad to fix it because he can do things like that
he broke it
took it to guitar store
came back exactly as it went it, with the input still loose :(

Get a strong polemagnet, pull out the input with it, then tighten the screws
I think I'm going to go and do that now then, shit's annoy as hell, I wish I had one of these input leads instead of the other kind :(
