I've really been wanting a Fender Starcaster lately, like so:

But they're extremely hard to find. :v:
Hell yeah!
I want a Coronado bass, but they're even rarer.
Got a really good tone from my guitar AND my bass.

Came out great.
That bass tone is fucking phat
Also I need some suggestions on songs to play. Easy-moderate range and I'll play anything from Pop-Rock to Metal.
The difficulty level of rock/heavy metal songs is very consistent, so essentially, you should just pick songs you like and try to learn them.
But if that doesn't work, here are some of my easy favourites:

Judas Priest - Breaking The Law

Danzig - Mother

Dio - Caught In The Middle

Black Sabbath - Never Say Die

Blink 182 - All The Small Things

Megadeth - Back In The Day
Just finished changing keys and modulation today. Its fucking amazing and a whole art in itself. Going to have to get my right hand and left hand up to speed after exams though.

That guy has been a never ending source of inspiration since 2 years ago. I've currently been learning to play tempting time, but it's a little bit tougher than some previous stuff I've learned or composed.

Hey guys, I broke my high E string last night, but it was a stock, so whatever. What size strings should I consider for Metal playing? I play in D standard usually, and sometimes Drop A.

I use .011-.052 for D Standard, but for Drop A I'd go up to .013 MAYBE .012 if it hurts your hands too much to play with .013s.

Appreciated, bro. I'm used to playing bass, so I don't know too much about guitar sizes.

I didn't mean to. I was tuning my e string when I meant to tune my A string and shit got fucked up.
Got my bass back from the shop, pics soon :D

does it sound all like WERGWERGWERGWERGWERGWERG?
Alright so I'll soon have the chance to buy some new gear. But what should I get?
1. AMP - Now I don't have a functioning amp. Logically I should get an amp.
However.
2. Guitar - I have a chance at getting a real nice guitar for around 250 from my teacher. They usually go around 500. It's an Ibanez Iceman, very nice.

My compromise is getting a really low end amp (about 40 bucks), HOWEVER, it is a Marshall. (Which I assume is good amp brand.) And I tested it, and it sounded fine to me.
Is this smart? Cheeseing out on the amp for the guitar?
90% percent of your tone is in your amp. If you have a decent guitar, get a new amp. Don't buy a Marshall at that price, I can guarantee you it will be an MG, which is pretty much bottom of the rung stuff.
If you're gonna have about $250 I would recommend a Blackstar HT5, a Roland Cube, a Vox Valvetronix, a Peavey Vypyr or saving a little more and getting a Jet City JCA2122RC. Particularly the first and last options for tone you'll stay happy with, or any others if you want to experiment more.
Get a good amp.

Nah, just get a light top heavy bottom .011 or .010
Came from the music shop today with a frown on my face. I had recently spent 239,000 kr on a new Mac (incoming flame/laughter/boxes/fanboyism) and I had to see it.

A mesa/boogie Stiletto Ace head that came with a Mesa/boogie 2x12 cab and a flight case for the head on the amazing price of 250,000 kr. For those not familiar with Icelandic pricing each of them were over 150,000 kr seperate and somehow the store is putting it on a deal for 250,000 kr to get a Head, the 2x12 cab and a flight case.
Buy my jackson perfomer PS-4!
I'll clean it up just for you, I never touch it anymore, it's got a floyd on it too. 2x humbuckers, 1 single coil in the middle.
only problem is that it's dusty, can be fixed in 30 seconds.
how much?
Anybody here have any experience with Delano pups? I think a replacement set on my bass is probably my next purchase, and I want to be a poser and not default to Duncans.

Hey, nobody has a beef with them when used for home recording.
how much?
I dunno, how does 200 sound?
I pretty much slowed down my guitar playing and have been focusing on the piano now (majoring in piano jazz composition, so...)
